Our Journey to Dani. Saturday, November 7, 2009. You've now seen all I've written. With packing and taking care of the baby, I didn't get a chance to write again on. Wednesday. We left the White Swan really early on Thursday to head to the airport for our long trek home. We know it will get better in the next few days - we just have to get through them! I hope we can emerge from the house sometime soon but it's not feeling like it will happen this afternoon! Our Journey to Dani. We cant wait to see Dani!

Our Journey to Dani. Saturday, November 7, 2009. Monday and Tuesday in Guangzhou. I'm bummed - I just wrote lots of details on the past two days and the message didn't get posted. So let me make this one quick - We're done! Dani's visa will be ready to be picked up tomorrow. On Monday Simon brought our paperwork and Dani's passport to the US Consulate. Today we went to the Consulate and took an oath that everything we said in our visa application for her was the truth. Woo hoo! Our Journey to Dani.

I knew she might call because when I snuck a peek at my Yahoo mail during lunch, I saw that new Waiting Child (special needs) lists had come out and our agency had received some especially designated for their families. Our Journey to Dani. Monday, November 9, 2009. Thanks to our neighbors we have food in the house and just need to concentrate on getting well (all three of us with nasty colds) and getting adjusted! We hope to see more daylight tomorrow. Elliot did take Dani for a short walk in the stroller late today before it got dark. Whenever we step outside we attract a crowd - which is nice! Our Journey to Dani. Saturday, November 7, 2009. Recap - last day in Taiyuan. Please excuse the typing - dani is eating cheerios on my lap. yes, i can multi-task. Dani had her second night of not wanting to go to sleep- i think it's because her ears are hurting. finally at midnight she fell asleep - and slept straight thru tl 7:30. She's understanding the food isn't disappearing - she's drinking bottles a little more slowly. that's a good thing. first few went down in 5 or 10 minutes. Our Journey to Dani.

Our Journey to Dani. Monday, October 19, 2009. Dani Day is one week from today! In one week we will meet our daughter! It seems very far away at the moment.well, I guess technically and literally it is. First it's the long, long flight(s) and then our sightseeing in Beijing, and then another flight and then.finally. Mary Ellen just got me very excited for the Gymboree store near the White Swan! Hope Laurie and Janis will be up for a little shopping (two other families from our agency). Our Journey to Dani.

Our Journey to Dani. Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Dani received her first mail today - addressed to Dani and her parents! And her first gifts not from her grandparents! Elliot is realizing how much stuff is associated with having kids. Our house will look quite different a few weeks from now! We received our Letter of Invitation to Travel to China today in the mail from our agency - they received it last Wednesday from China. It's actually a beautiful document to look at - Dani's photo is right on it!

Our Journey to Dani. Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Long travel day ahead. We're sitting at Cincinnati airport at 6:00 am, waiting for the first leg of our trip. Still hard to believe we're finally going. It hit both Elliot and me when we got in the car this morning with the car seat already in the back! We'll meet Laurie, Paul and Hanna when we get to Newark airport. So glad to be experiencing this journey with two families that have done it once before. Our Journey to Dani.
