My Trips and Races: August 2008
http://mytripsandraces.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
My Trips and Races. Saturday, August 2, 2008. NYC Half Marathon 7.27.08. Race number 21 was the NYC Half Marathon. Goals: to run between water stations, to run a 2:20 (based on my training run from the previous weekend), or to run a sub-10 pace. On Saturday, Mike and I went to Chinatown for our pre-race carbo-load. We stopped at Ten Ren for bubble tea, then went to Big Wong’s for congee and rice crepes. Before heading home, we got massages. It was so good! I had a lot of excuses for not doing well (nutri...

Reprogramming...: Eldorado Springs, Anyone?
http://opinionatedvoice.blogspot.com/2009/10/eldorado-springs-anyone.html
Lessons learned on Planet Earth.publicly since 2005. Monday, October 12, 2009. Eldorado Springs, Anyone? I have found heaven, and it is on Earth. It is called Eldorado Springs, and I am somewhat ashamed of myself for not having known about this awesome, killer, gorgeous part of the world- that is basically IN MY BACKYARD- since I've lived in Boulder for over a decade now. On the trail, cheesing it up, in pigtails and a Camelbak. Yes, I am a Coloradan! The trail itself was quite lovely: moderately steep, ...

Lessons learned on Planet Earth.publicly since 2005. Wednesday, August 05, 2009. RIP William R. Barrowclough August 5, 1940 - October 7, 2007. It’s somewhat incredible to me that this is the second year my father has missed his own birthday. That he’s still gone, that I can’t call him to say hi, Happy Birthday, Daddy, what are you going to do on your special day? Boy, do I miss you, Dad. I love you. Posted by Dondi Leigh. Reprogramming...: November 2008
http://opinionatedvoice.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Lessons learned on Planet Earth.publicly since 2005. Thursday, November 13, 2008. Denver Half Marathon Race Report. October 19, 2008. What do you get when you pair 5623 runners with about a hundred port-a-potties? But surely a few more. Wouldn’t have hurt. We were pretty much left to fend for ourselves on the course, as well, although since it toured through several parks in greater downtown. There were a few. How did my race report get so toilet-centered? Ahead of the sweeper truck. I can really only of...

I run because...: May 2015
http://irunbecause.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
You don't have to be fast. But you'd better be fearless. Thursday, 7 May 2015. Race Report - Dumyat Hill Race 2015. For the last two years I’ve been laid out with a heavy cold in the first week of May. I know this because during the two and a half years I’ve worked in Stirling, I’ve been out of action during the annual Dumyat Hill Race. A long-established out-and-back peak-bagging adventure of mud and rocks which I’ve felt like a fool for missing. Dumyat has always been a low-key affair but I think this ...

Angie's Excellent Adventures. One Mom's Journey to Ironman. IRONMAN FLORIDA: The EPIC Race Report. November 12, 2016. On Saturday, November 5, 2016, I had the most incredible, fun, awe-inspiring race experience ever! And I’ll tell you what – if I’ve only got one 140.6 in me, then I am so deliriously thrilled that this was it. A little bit of wind and a little bit of chop on the swim made it challenging and exciting, but not ridiculous by any means. I met up with my training partner, Megan, and her husban...

Panama Canal Run: Run Across Panama
http://panamacanalrun.blogspot.com/2013/01/run-across-panama.html
RACE / EVENT CONSULTING. Friday, January 11, 2013. I was often drawn to the idea of running from places of significance to other places of significance. One area intrigued me greatly and I was surprised that I could not find a race that traversed the course I felt was a natural fit. Run the Panama Canal. Stay tuned for more!
