Thursday, October 22, 2009. At the Mississippi headwaters in Itasca State Park, Minnesota. John grew up going to Itasca every summer because his Uncle Ben worked as a naturalist there in the summer, and Ben and Aunt Lou and their sons spent the summers up there every year. This is the first time John got his wife and girls up to the place he loved going as a kid. Visitor center at Itasca State Park. Norah explores the visitor center. Looks like a fun family trip! Your kids are all looking so much older!

Thursday, August 20, 2009. Our darling Norah Kathryn is SIX MONTHS OLD! She started SITTING UP unassisted last weekend, just in time for her 6 month portraits. She is so proud of herself, and is already plotting how to crawl. We all love this little look with closed-lips smile she gives off so often. All THREE of our beauties.Faith in polka dots with pink trim, Gracia in Paris poodle, and Norah in her Baby Tutu! Mommy's personal FAVORITE (above). Reminiscent of the baby pictures of the 1950s.isn't it?

Maizy and Leo had a great time playing together. Maizy got a new bed! We had a campfire and S'mores with the neighbors on our anniversary. Gloria (11.75), Betsy (2.5), Lukey (5.75), Abbie (5.75),. Josh (almost 7), Violet (9.5), Regan (4 months), Asher (4.25) and Isaiah (3.5). Maizy Lu - growing by the second! 4 families (5 counting us) and 14 kids!

Tuesday, September 11, 2012. August was actually a fairly quiet month (ahhhhhh), which we enjoyed! The summer was so packed with activities that it was nice to finally have some time to just "hang out.". The boys had fun hanging out at mom and dad's and helping with chores (ika getting dirty). They were finally big enough to hang out in the horse pasture and do the chores by themselves. As you can see, Grayson thought the work was so strenuous! The girls were dancers/kids in the town of River City and even Bill and I. Made a little cameo appearance as the Farmer and his wife. I've never been confident in the water (thanks to a certain traumatizing experience during my early childhood), but I am quite proficient. However, much to my surprise.I was underestimating my children! Everyone had fun, but I think we all got the biggest kick out of Sam's hair. He has very fine hair, perfect for fun with static! The mullet curls stayed intact despite static. Friday, June 26, 2009. Gabe attended Fireman Camp this week and I think it just might have been the highlight of his summer! And I must admit, I was a little jealous and wished I could go too! It was an incredible 4 days filled with tons of fun and hands-on experiences. It was held at our newest fire station, which doubles as a training facility. The kids put that station to the test!
