Carrie gets along great with Phoenix already, but I was little nervous about everyone coming together since there were 2 new couples that Carrie and Kason haven't met yet. Monday, January 16, 2012. Last Saturday, my 31st birthday, was the Texas State Weightlifting Championships in Alvin, TX. I drove down on Friday evening (what a boring drive! Thursday, April 26, 2012. Has happened since the State Meet! I competed in Dutch Lowy's first annual Black Box Lifting Meet in late February. It was a fun time! I hit 56kg in Snatch and 72kg in CJ. I had the 75 jerked, but my foot got stuck on the very sticky platform and I lost the barbell from overhead. :( Cleaning the 75 was a PR. I placed 2nd to Candice Ruiz, who kicked my tush with 65(? The goal to 20s is to get 15 reps with increasing percentages followed by 5 bonus reps, ideally hitting a PR.

Sunday, May 15, 2011. March 14 was my very first Olympic lifting meet, and I am already hooked. First of all, it wasn't really what I expected because it was so laid. Back and casual. It was held in the Spoon Barbell Club owner's barn! Got lots of work to do before the August meet. June 3 can't get here soon enough, though. The students have checked out mentally, and most of my colleagues have followed suit. Just a few more weeks! PS: Discovered that my opponent at this meet beat me on C&J by 1.
