Almost exactly 3 years after abandoning Macs for PCs, I’ve just received my new setup and it’s a beast! I wrote a blog post. Who took the time to ensure the model I was getting would meet my needs. Below is a look at the system’s specifications:. Asus X99-E-WS (Intel X99). Intel Core i7 5960x Extreme (8 x 3.0-3.5 GHZ) Overclocked up to 4.4 GHZ. 2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti. I’ve finally been able to use Octane on some live projects. I have a lot to learn but what I’ve seen so far is impressive. For years I’ve looked at expanding my options for rendering in Cinema 4D. VRay scared the hell out of me and the excitement surrounding the announcement of Renderman’s price drop. Who mentioned a fairly new render engine called Octane. Posted in: New Projects. I’m fast approaching one year since I officially went freelance. Although it has been incredibly busy, I definitely prefer it to full-time employment. If I had to pick one factor I’m enjoying the most I would say “freedom”. I will still be freelancing in 2016 and working on developing Atom Studio. Proof of concept 3D product renders. During the early stages of a project, I was brought in to create these product renders to show the level of authenticity we could achieve. I went through the process of converting the CAD files into a 3D format and then cleaned up the geometry, texturing it and added lighting.
