Five Mothers | Mama's Pages
http://mamaspages.blogspot.com/2013/02/five-mothers.html
Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Last night we held a prayer service for five young halibut fishermen, from our community, who are missing at sea. Over one hundred people crowded into our small church in faith and hope that the men would be found. Sunday night their fishing boat capsized and search boats from the Coast Guard have been searching over 10,000 square kilometres of water for signs of a life raft. What can we say to them? What words of comfort can we give? There are none. They've lost their s...

Though He Slay Me | Mama's Pages
http://mamaspages.blogspot.com/2011/10/though-he-slay-me.html
Monday, October 17, 2011. Though He Slay Me. Job 13:15 is one of my personal 'having done all to stand, then stand' verses. It is a piece of the bedrock of my faith and I hold to it. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him". Job is speaking to his friends and explaining to them that even though God would allow everything to be taken from him and even if God would take his life, he, Job, would still trust Him. That's faith! What will it take to shake your faith? Most of the time, if we're honest, we do...

It's Just Instinct | Mama's Pages
http://mamaspages.blogspot.com/2015/06/it-just-instinct.html
Friday, June 12, 2015. There are many things that we do by instinct and probably never think about until someone points them out to us by commenting on them. Like when you are traveling in the car and have to slam on your breaks quickly, doesn't your arm fly across your passenger's chest? Mine does even though logic would tell me that the seatbelt will help them much more than my arm's feeble attempt, but I come from the era before seat belts and throwing your arm across your passenger is just instinct.

Monday, October 1, 2012. 9 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;. My eyes grow weak with sorrow,. My soul and body with grief. My strength fails because of my affliction,. And my bones grow weak. 14 But I trust in you, Lord;. I say, “You are my God.”. 15 My times are in your hands;. 16 Let your face shine on your servant;. Save me in your unfailing love. He heals the broken heartened, binding up their wounds. He turned to the Lord and asked for mercy. Stuff (GOD'S WORD IS THE REAL STUFF! God has...

Friday, April 3, 2015. When my siblings and I were growing up Mom always made sure we had a new outfit for Easter. Sometimes it would be a new outfit that she had bought for us but some years were really special because she would make my sisters and me a new dress. Mom loved to sew and would often stay up late into the night to finish a project that she just couldn't leave. I still get thrilled when I hear those words! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). God has blessed us with a great old farmhouse whic...
