Scholarships, Bursaries and Cowichan Community Initiatives. The Cowichan Foundation is a non-profit registered society concerned about the community and its needs. We have established 6 ‘memorial’ scholarships/bursaries at Vancouver Island University as part of our annual contribution to help post-secondary students from the Cowichan Valley. Each is in the amount of $1000. The Rollie Rose Award. His longtime friend Mike Coleman says, Rollie may be tiny, but he has an out-sized sense of humour.
