Community Action Center of Northfield. Operation Backpack Equips Local Students. July 28, 2016. This year the United Methodist Women’s Campaign for Children expects to serve 575 local students getting ready for school through the Operation Backpack program. The distribution occurs in less than four weeks. Registration, or certification, for assistance by Operation Backpack is currently underway at the CAC, with August 5. Reserved for special recertification visits, prior to the deadline of August 10.

Helping Habitat for Humanity. November 17th, 2014 by Mary Schmelzer. These kids will get their own homes this year through Habitat for Humanity. It is my honor and privilege to serve on the board for Rice County Habitat for Humanity, our local chapter.
