Thursday, July 21, 2011. Nope, Just the Upstairs. Apparently, we've been super productive this month. Once more, my in-laws came up on Sunday and helped us to install the hallway drywall. I am once more amazed at the progress. They are drywall installing gurus or something. Our upstairs hallway is actually starting to look like a hallway. :). Here are some pics of their work. Looking up from the stairwell. Looking down the hall toward the Nursery. Looking down the hall toward the Guest Room. We called ou...

1915 CRAFTSMAN BUNGALOW: March 2013
http://1915craftsmanbungalow.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 3, 2013. We found this cabinet at an antique store. It was covered in 6 to 7 layers of paint. I sanded it down to the bare wood. I primed and painted the cabinet after sanding. I also removed the hardware and placed them in a jewelery ultrasonic to remove the paint. The cabinet looked to be once a built-in cabinet in a 1920's home. Links to this post. Thursday, February 16, 2012. 1915 Western Electric Oak Telephone. Here is our newest toy. It is a 1915 Western Electric oak telephone. It has a subset on the inside with a rotary dial so we can use it. It works perfectly! We felt our kitchen needed a period appropriate telephone, so we sought this one out. Below is an antique telephone operators stool which is barely visible. The stool is the right height if you want to sit and talk on the phone. Here is what the inside looks like with the subset box.

The recent antique finds of J&J. Random pictures and thumbnails descriptions of recent and past finds! Sunday, April 13, 2014. Recently, we have been finding a lot of Empire style sofas and settees. Below is a settee that was recently added to the collection. This piece needs to be reupholstered and the joints need to be tightened and glued. Right now, this piece is being used as an artwork holder because of the condition of the upholstery. More artwork and frames. This is an oil on board from about 1900...

We're not sure yet if we have any lingering ghostly house guests, but we'll keep you posted of any interesting activity or experiences that we have here. You can be the judge. What a way to start the day. :) This has never happened before. 3:00 am. Jim isn't sure if this was a dream or if it really happened. It was a dark and stormy night (It was dark, duh, because it was night; and it actually was quite stormy). :) Anyways, Jim reports that he woke up around 3am and had an uneasy feeling....The micro...

The recent antique finds of J&J. Random pictures and thumbnails descriptions of recent and past finds! Monday, February 24, 2014. Here's another post of things that will eventually go into the kitchen. Here's one of my husband's new hobbies. He has a few vintage advertising tins from local companies. I have some rarer ones that are packed away in a box for safe keeping including some mid to late 1950s Mickey Mouse Club glasses. I would like to find a Slowpoke Rodriguez or Andy Panda one day. Thes...Yes, ...
