Cold Toes on chronic illness: 01/05/10

http://coldtoesonchronicillness.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 26 May 2010. Last night I enjoyed being with about thirty five others in an evening of contemplation and meditation. Many people present had never tried this approach to life - which is quite counter-cultural for Britain - and some helpful suggestions were offered for people who want to start. The advice was to practice (in a way we individually find suitable) and persist, slowly increasing the amount of time we stay in contemplation. We all have certain levels of long term pain that we feel w...

Cold Toes on chronic illness: 01/10/10

http://coldtoesonchronicillness.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 19 October 2010. Back from the dead! All Hallow's Eve approaches and many friends are telling me that they are feeling like death warmed up. It is normal to be worn down by fatigue and and moan that this is a horrible time of year. We wish all these stomach bugs and infections on our chests would go away.and quickly. Why would I be so perverse? To shorten a difficult explanation: because it is a sign that my body is alive and kicking! I am now able to think about working again because the cognit...

Cold Toes on chronic illness: Life too complicated?

http://coldtoesonchronicillness.blogspot.com/2009/08/life-too-complicated.html

Saturday, 1 August 2009. I always appreciate the news according to The World Tonight, especially on Robin Lustig's watch. It is vital that we take in a broad sweep of the issues which are important to our everyday lives. But he makes this point: 'We live in a complex, confusing, technologically-challenging world. We lie awake at night and worry: do I know enough, understand enough, to make the right decisions for myself and my family? But the answers are usually as confused as the questions.'. So what wo...

Cold Toes on chronic illness: Our fossilized beauty

http://coldtoesonchronicillness.blogspot.com/2010/11/recent-unearthing-of-my-childhood.html

Friday, 5 November 2010. The recent unearthing of my childhood fossils and stones collection has resonated with my belief in the gradual structuring and reinvention of our human body over time. I do not believe that we consist only of our isolated selves, our personal lifelong genes. We are not self-contained, pure and untainted within our skins; and current developments in microbiology. Give me encouragement in believing this. The possibility that some creature could slip a few genes in to another unrel...

Cold Toes on chronic illness: Gotta add weight

http://coldtoesonchronicillness.blogspot.com/2011/05/gotta-add-weight.html

Monday, 2 May 2011. 160;adds weight to the theory that the body absolutely needs to push fat in to cells. Those patients who had liposuction in one place found that the fat reappeared somewhere else in the body. This makes sense to me, if you consider that a body which does not have a perfectly balanced metabolism of its various proteins, chemicals and hormones will produce an excess of some. Fat cells are a good place to put the extra. Are to blame for their own poor health. And if you are wondering why...

Sail in the wind's eye: December 2012

http://sailinthewindseye.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Wednesday, 19 December 2012. Christ, TS Eliot, Death and Wisdom. I'm still here. I have had writer's block a long time (apart from occasional short meditations and poems) and have been getting on with life in different ways. Each time I've taken a step, a couple more metres of the road ahead have appeared. Please have a look here. Shalom, Shantih to all. Posted by HC Hunter. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Why, just now,.

Sail in the wind's eye: Should the poor look poor?

http://sailinthewindseye.blogspot.com/2012/01/should-poor-look-poor.html

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Monday, 30 January 2012. Should the poor look poor? I wrote this poem after reading this excellent blogpost. Kindness, hospitality, warm with hands. Around the mug of basic coffee. Feet shuffle on the neat coloured rug. While the ears listen. And the scribing fills notepad sheets. A corner of the sofa fades under. Carefully placed smartening azure throws. The hint of vacuum cleaner air remains. How is your life? Where every...

Sail in the wind's eye: William Blake: The Human Abstract

http://sailinthewindseye.blogspot.com/2011/03/william-blake-human-abstract.html

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Wednesday, 2 March 2011. William Blake: The Human Abstract. Pity would be no more. If we did not make somebody poor;. And mercy no more could be. If all were as happy as we. And mutual fear brings peace,. Till the selfish loves increase;. Then cruelty knits a snare. And spreads his baits with care. He sits down with holy fears,. And waters the ground with tears;. Then humility takes its root. Soon spreads the dismal shade.

Sail in the wind's eye: Only Connect

http://sailinthewindseye.blogspot.com/2011/02/only-connect.html

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Monday, 21 February 2011. We awake to the day and take one step. When we are physically limited this step has to be in a world that is not in front of us. I chose to connect and rediscovered a friend. His wife has now connected my next steps with her art. http://sailinthewindseye.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Monday, 17 January 2011. The phrase pokes out. As childish eyes gleam wide. In the half-lit room. Familiarity oozes rest when my gaze. Moves to that same frame,. Easing in to pampered vision. Mediterranean sky mounts blue on ochre stones. A shadowed archway rises bleached. The sketched town that peeks. Is menial in purpose. Plain strokes of brush. Have filled the space with abstract pueblo form. That then takes life. Are gr...

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Monday, 6 June 2011. Give peace a chance. Helping bring peace and deeper understanding, one life-sustaining young woman at a time: what an inspiration I have recently discovered the Creativity for Peace project to be. We're not only living the change we want to see. We're also creating a common history, after living a whole life of separation and boundaries," says the co-ordinator. Sail in the wind's eye: Everything today has the incongruity of a Paul Weller album

http://sailinthewindseye.blogspot.com/2011/05/everything-today-has-incongruity-of.html

Sail in the wind's eye. Poetry, philosophy, science - sifted through me, as I am. Tuesday, 17 May 2011. Everything today has the incongruity of a Paul Weller album. I've got a feeling. From the floorboards up. Call it a calling. If you like that touch. Call it what you will. I really don't care too much. I've got a feeling. And I know it's right. I get it most evenings. If not every night. It sings in the air. And dances like candle light. When we play, we play, we play. Mama, from the floorboards up.

Ordinary World | Tassels and Trims

December 3, 2014. I moved here in 1987 and learned somehow that there was a synagogue in town. I would drive by and imagine myself in attendance, sitting in the back to listen and learn. It seemed an impossibility as I didn’t know any members and knew nothing at all about conversion. This. But could not name it. From someone who could not find God into someone learning to look for HaShem in everything, is a great and continuing joy. No cake ever tasted sweeter. Posted in Just about me. January 19, 2014.

Cold Toes on chronic illness

Thursday, 19 May 2011. Pretty simple, huh? May be showing pretty pictures of bacteria but they display OLD-STYLE microbiology when we know at a molecular level now that these matters are far more complex than pinpointing the great big "bruisers" of microbes like E coli. Study "provokes reexamination of the traditional view of killing strategies against bacteria" and contains some far more challenging actual shots of bacteria. And this paper. On nanobacteria and others. Posted by HC Hunter. This makes sen...

I'm back in Minnie, but this will be about last week when Papa Bruce was in SLC for the weekend.  It's the closest we've had to a complete family for quite a while, but hopefully all the Hultgrens will be together soon in Denver.  However, i'll be chilling here until next Monday so call me or shoot me an email and lets hang out. That's all on that for right now. All the time.  Apparently his stuffed animal was getting sicker by the day so it was good timing that the even...160;Be...

All Different, Each Unique

All Different, Each Unique. Saturday, December 18, 2010. Think before you speak. It is really disturbing for me to read comments from a stupid fool who knows nothing but to complain about our Government now. She complained on many things but she focused more onto our education's systems. And surprisingly, she even questioned about her own special rights. haha, you are one funny clown you know? Unfortunately, the local university didn't want her as she took her foundation year from a private college.
