A post-election rant… | Jeremy Rowe

A post-election rant…. 7 May, 2015. Posted by Jeremy Rowe in Politics. The polls have finally closed and no one’s propaganda can make the blindest bit of difference now. The national campaign seems to have been painfully long and negative, without shedding too much light on the issues that will make the most difference to people’s lives. I’m glad it’s over. Regardless of who forms the next government here is my wishlist of the things I hope they remember:. 4 Please don’t just accept the ‘austerity’ agend...

4 May, 2013. Posted by Jeremy Rowe in News. The dust is starting to settle on a dramatic set of elections to Cornwall Council. The authority has lost some good people from all political groups and gained some interesting new faces in their place. The electorate have given those of us who remain a good deal to think about. As far as the raw numbers. Have to do a lot more listening this time around. 4 May, 2013. Congratulations to you Jeremy! 2 Jan - 4 May, 2013. Well done guys keep up the good work. Lib D...

The Insane Ramblings Of a Village Idiot: April 2011
http://pleaseshoveoff.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 April 2011. How to become a Lord. I hope you all had a wonderful day, I certainly did especially when I decided to turn off the the Royal Wedding commentators and play the Star Wars Imperial March, the effect was like honey dripped magic, as the Welsh guards marched up the Mall it seemed to transform them into jack booted brown shirts intent on storming the Reichstag. Well I wish the Saxe Coburg Und Gothas a happy future, all humans deserve happiness, just as all humans should enjoy equality, ...
Rob's blog: the Cornwall Devolution Deal and the continuing centralisation to Cornwall Council

Contact details for me. Thursday, 23 July 2015. The Cornwall Devolution Deal and the continuing centralisation to Cornwall Council. What do the current plans entail? To turn first to the Case for Cornwall, as readers are probably aware this is the document put together by Cornwall Council asking the government for more powers. (available here. This is where the term double devolution comes from as the document explains:. Here there is a great deal on principle and mighty fine it is too. There isn't a...

Contact details for me. Friday, 2 November 2012. No to nuclear weapons in Cornwall! With the prospect of Scotland leaving the United Kingdom a very real possibility, the government are fretting about where to put the nuclear weapons based in Coulport Scotland. Their eyes have moved to the area around Falmouth. As Dick Cole blogged. Echoing the CND campaign to cut Trident:. Even the ex Conservative defence secretary has recently questioned the point of having nuclear weapons. Michael Portillo. After years...

Sign the petition against Cornwall Council's Strategic Partnership for Shared Services privitisation plans. Link to the epetition here. Rob's blog: Devon and Cornwall Police relocate their helicopter to Cornwall
http://robscornishblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/devon-and-police-relocate-their.html
Contact details for me. Wednesday, 14 September 2011. Devon and Cornwall Police relocate their helicopter to Cornwall. Only joking it's nowhere near Cornwall, it's moving further away. Devon and Cornwall Police's EC-145. Map of the force area, not the helicopters location (the airport symbol to the east of Exeter). So I wondered why is the helicopter based in Exeter and funny enough this is answered on the police website:. Weather conditions are better in the Exeter area; it would be more difficult to fl...
Rob's blog: Cornwall and the blight of second homes
http://robscornishblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/cornwall-and-blight-of-second-homes.html
Contact details for me. Monday, 15 August 2011. Cornwall and the blight of second homes. So what can we do about 2nd homes in Cornwall? Abolish second home discounts:. Stop second home owners pretending to run their houses as a business:. Ban new second homes when 5% of that area is already non-residential. This idea comes from Dick Cole, leader of Mebyon Kernow in his own words:. Http:/ mebyonkernow.blogspot.com/2011/07/action-on-second-homes.html. I think this is a good idea, for too long councils in C...
Rob's blog: Devolution for Cornwall a nod in the right direction
http://robscornishblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/devolution-for-cornwall-nod-in-right.html
Contact details for me. Thursday, 16 July 2015. Devolution for Cornwall a nod in the right direction. Today David Cameron will come to Cornwall and outline a devolution deal for Cornwall (Council). As always the devil will be in the detail and we have to be cautious of what is said and what actually comes to pass. It is at least a great deal more than the government's deal which hasn't even had the pretence of public consultation and wasn't even discussed by Cornwall Councillors in public session. Devon ...

Cllr Joe Ryan's Blog
Cllr Joe Ryan's Blog. If it affects you it's here on Wexford's first political blog. Friday, May 2, 2014. You’re oh up the poll! Politics is all swings and roundabouts. 3 weeks out from polling it seems the election is only starting. Initial polls suggested that the European election in Ireland South was all over. It would be a slam dunk job for FF, SF and FG as they would share out the seats. But if a week is a long time in politics, what difference does a day make? Wexford seems to be at the kernel of ...
