Saturday, May 2, 2009. On the popular feminist blog Feministe. A visitor will be given news stories with a spin that will somehow usually support women's rights. It is a blog where the main target audience is women so it is not a surprise that I do frequent these sites. However, after recently visiting this blog, a recent blog post, " You Learn Something New Everyday. Made sense to me. The topic of the post was sex education. In it, the author known as Cara, provided a link. To the new platform of WhyNow?

Political Stimulus: CBS-NY 11pm Local News
http://polistimulus.blogspot.com/2009/05/cbs-ny-11pm-local-news.html
Saturday, May 2, 2009. CBS-NY 11pm Local News. Next on the news agenda was completion of the first 100 days in office for President Obama, an artificial milestone that all media has decided to legitimize. The focus of this report was the Republican scorecard of the first 100 days. Not surprisingly, Republicans haven't been too supportive of the Democratic president so far. They continue to point to Obama's ambitious spending plans as the wrong direction for America but this is expected. Entertainment (WA...

Sylvz Talks: Link to a traditional Newspaper? The NY Times
http://sylvztalks.blogspot.com/2009/05/link-to-traditional-newspaper-ny-times.html
Monday, May 4, 2009. Link to a traditional Newspaper? In the NY Times today an article that caught my attention on the front page headlined Porous Border With Pakistan Could Hinder U.S. Troops. The issue here is that the borders have holes that aren't secured and it has been a pathway for infiltration from the Taliban.Though this article made headline coverage its not really that interesting or should be breaking news that it had to be on the front page. And entertaining to want to even know the facts.

Sylvz Talks: Hannity and Colms
http://sylvztalks.blogspot.com/2009/05/hanity-and-colmes.html
Monday, May 4, 2009. After watching an episode of Hannity. Network it was interesting to see debates on the issues and presented in a way that was argumentative and informative. It is unfortunate that the show is no longer running and they booted off Colms. Who to me when watching some of the clips in the past made it very interesting. He was also the more liberal of the two as well. He was very good at cutting people off and not letting them speak to get his point. Across. I watched a more recent.

How Amusing: Informative and Entertaining
http://amusingwisdom.blogspot.com/2009/05/night-after-i-watched-abc-news-at-630.html
Sunday, May 3, 2009. The night after I watched the ABC News at 6:30 (April 30, 2009) I also watched the very entertaining Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I was not surprised to see that they both covered the two major stories of the day, those being the Swine Flu and President Obama’s first 100 days in the presidency. Setting-wise, the Daily Show does a good job at replicating what it looks like on a news station, except in the Daily Show there is actually an audience. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Political Stimulus: Middleman's Got it Wrong
http://polistimulus.blogspot.com/2009/05/middlemans-got-it-wrong.html
Monday, May 4, 2009. Middleman's Got it Wrong. I just took a look at a recent blog post. By middleman3. In the post, middleman accuses the show "Girls Next Door" of having negative impacts on younger girls. He says that the three women on the show are portrayed as "sex objects" and not as "real human beings." Furthermore, middleman argues that the show highlights their "stupidity" and is constantly focusing on their gaffes. You also need to question how real this "reality" show really is. These girls...

Political Stimulus: The Girls Next Door
http://polistimulus.blogspot.com/2009/05/girls-next-door-super-bowl-party.html
Monday, May 4, 2009. The Girls Next Door. The first thing that comes to my mind after watching an episode of "The Girls Next Door" is that Hugh Hefner has got to be the luckiest guy in America. Besides living in this beautiful, grandiose, Los Angeles mansion. Furthermore, young girls probably shouldn't be watching this show in the first place. The target audience for the show is young adult males who clearly are not watching the show for educational value. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Girls Ne...

Political Stimulus: NBC Nightly News vs. Daily Show
http://polistimulus.blogspot.com/2009/05/nbc-nightly-news-vs-daily-show.html
Monday, May 4, 2009. NBC Nightly News vs. Daily Show. Recently, I watched an episode of NBC's Nightly News. Overall, the Daily Show is directed towards a completely different audience than the NBC news coverage. The show is there to provide a break from traditional news and to examine the aspects of the established news networks that could be viewed as humorous, like CNN's John King and his "magic board". For example, which I've always found to be rather comical myself. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
