Citizenship with Fidelity

Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Wars of religion are never entered into. If memory serves and history is accounted for - there are wars that go beyond the pale of the conventional spectrum of conflict: unlimited, unrestricted wars. Conversely, to think of peace is to think about people in human terms. Religion ought to enable us to more closely reflect in our common humanity what makes the human family better belong. What commits to war and what commits to peace. Christianity is not lacking in violent history.

Citizenship with Fidelity: Good, Better, Best

http://citizenshipwithfidelity.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-good-better-and-best.html

Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Good, Better, Best. This is my thinking:. There are good administrations, and there are better ones. Every administration we, the people, duly elect into office in an election is honest and sincere is a good administration. Depending on political as well as personal skill and acumen, each these administration as a whole. May choose to capitalize on the mandate that we, the people, invest in them and make their legacies more than good. Elections and Electoral Culture. For we have ...

Citizenship with Fidelity: Thoughts in the Raw

http://citizenshipwithfidelity.blogspot.com/2015/05/thoughts-in-raw_21.html

Friday, May 22, 2015. Thoughts in the Raw. I hate it that the BBL issue is getting helplessly conflicting. One can not despair though. When things get this way, I think it is becoming more and more a leadership crisis than a legislative one. And when we talk of leadership we look to Malacanang. or to each ourselves. If Congress hasn't already done so, they should rethink this clause. Unresolved if not by them - by us. I think we as a nation have a moral and spiritual obligation to help human beings in ne...

Citizenship with Fidelity: 201108

http://citizenshipwithfidelity.blogspot.com/p/201108.html

201108 Challenge #2 - The Gift of Nationhood. In the last monthly challenge, we dealt with judgment. Because there are judgments we tend to make that does not reflect the judgments we should make as citizens to each other. We can not reject the fact that we are citizens to each other. This is so because our nationhood is not something we decreed for ourselves to be. Our belonging together emerged as something our generations as a whole. This is why we dealt with judgment in our first monthly exercise.

Citizenship with Fidelity: 201107

http://citizenshipwithfidelity.blogspot.com/p/201107.html

201107 Challenge #1 - Judging Others. Never take into yourself those judgments reserved for the final Justice of God in Eternity. You are never to judge without hope - despairing of others or of self. For the LORD is a gracious King and desire happiness and salvation for all His beings. We Filipinos, as good citizens and neighbors to each other, it seems, are somewhat prone to judging others - especially ourselves. For Justice serves truth and all truth serves the cause of Charity. Therefore, it would be...

Citizenship with Fidelity: Our Monthly Challenges

http://citizenshipwithfidelity.blogspot.com/p/our-monthly-challenge.html

Starting 201107, I shall begin to formally challenge you, O my nation, with these monthly exercises. Each exercise shall focus on an essential nation-building character that we already possess as a nation. Selah" means to pause in the silence and ponder for a moment the things that are being said). But needs further strengthening. In our awareness as a people. In this new age. We shall also rely on everything we have been learning together thus far in the main portion of this blog. This blog is a comment...

One Song Meow: January 2013

http://onesongmeow.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

1,575 Haikus for my Anne. Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world. Thursday, January 10, 2013. We can only be reminded of what we're leaving behind. To know what future we want for our world. Planted in our hearts. That Man may long persevere. As nations - in time. Peace is like a seed. Of good thoughts, of words, and deeds -. Tis many small things. Nurtured, sheltered, and gathered -. And embraced as one. Peace is not something we must fight for,.

One Song Meow: Nature is Patient

http://onesongmeow.blogspot.com/2012/10/nature-is-patient.html

1,575 Haikus for my Anne. Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world. Thursday, October 4, 2012. Is caused just as much by the destruction of our trees than by the degradation of our air. Cut one tree too many in Africa or South America or Asia and the burden of that loss is the burden of all nations. And her patience she invests. In her green, growing trees. Cut a few down - let's -. Build a few towns and cities. That's all very well. Cut too many trees -.

My Recovery First Journal: May 2014

http://myrecoveryfirstjournal.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

My Recovery First Journal. Wednesday, May 28, 2014. I can not forget you, Tatay. My thoughts oft return to those times. At the Center not so long ago, where much of the memories of my life-long commitment to recovery were forged. So much has happened since but those times shall always be near me. To make recovery as real a choice to each of us - as can be. Real enough to rival the choice to use. The Tatay I know seem to be aloof. But he was like that for a purpose. His distance was like a fence&#...Now h...

My Recovery First Journal: From my Journal 20130818Sun

http://myrecoveryfirstjournal.blogspot.com/2013/08/from-my-journal-20130818sun.html

My Recovery First Journal. Sunday, August 18, 2013. From my Journal 20130818Sun. During Holy Communion at Anticipated Mass yesterday, I was asked by one of our senior lay ministers in the EMHC to go up to the church loft to offer the Eucharist to our choir, which I obeyed even whilst in doubt because the rite was almost concluding. There I met our beautiful and talented choir, and it instantly dawned upon my mind how deeply Christ loves our young people. And it suddenly felt profoundly good to be there.

My Recovery First Journal: December 2012

http://myrecoveryfirstjournal.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

My Recovery First Journal. Friday, December 28, 2012. The Legend of the Seeker. I've been watching the first season of "Legend of the Seeker" and think it's a really well-written tale. No wonder a very good friend of mine recommended me the book by Terry Goodkind. Of the things I have noticed so far is the moral question. Of the " common good vs. the individual good. That is frequently interwoven in the plot. For the individual good must. Exist within the context. Of an impending evil. Year One Ive been ...

One Song Meow: Addiction is False

http://onesongmeow.blogspot.com/2012/10/addiction-is-false.html

1,575 Haikus for my Anne. Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world. Thursday, October 18, 2012. Let me tell you, friend -. Such as thing as good addiction. With which Man daily tends to the labors of the earth. And allows him to quietly succeed in life and family. Seemingly hidden - to the world - in plain sight;. A love of the LORD and the way of His commands,. Both all and sundry (the nations) and/or particular (honorable religion),. It has to lie.

1,575 Haikus for my Anne. Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world. Thursday, November 22, 2012. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,. But only say the word and my soul will be healed.". Let Thou be the one. My only addiction -. O my Jesus please. Save me from myself. Let Thou be my one Freedom. Make me as Thyself. When we eat the heavenly food of the Eucharist exactly the opposite happens. We become what we eat. March 7, 1944.
