DCC 2007 and Fainting Goats. Toward a New Blog. View my complete profile. Sunday, September 23, 2007. DCC 2007 and Fainting Goats. We were (for the most part) just at this, but just in case doubt arises in the future about how awesome DCC 2007 was, I am writing this as a record to confirm that it was both very fun and very satisfying to be a part of and it made yesterday one of the best days in recent memory. I don't want to get carried away, but it was truly great. Welcome to the blogosphere! Cool, than...

PDX in the HVN. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. So, with about, oh, approximately. 975 days left til thesis deadline, I have started thinking about silly little things like acknowledgments, dedications, etc. (instead of thinking about other silly little things like introductions, conclusions, etc.). And then I remembered that little line in the acknowledgments on my Reed thesis:. To Frida and Lou.". It just made me laugh. I still don't know who to dedicate the new one to. Sunday, April 6, 2008. PDX in the HVN. Thursday, September 20, 2007. A creative afternoon burst. An overload of classes (five instead of four), four of which are writing intensive. A 10 hour per week job. PhD applications (now with new and improved positive response from a dude at Santa Cruz! Some other scholarship appications, probably. A presentation about zombies. House and cat maintenance. A house full of fresh-picked fruit, far too much for the three of us to reasonably consume. Membership in several student organizations.

PDX in the HVN: August 2007
http://eastcoastpdx.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
PDX in the HVN. Monday, August 27, 2007. Thursday, August 23, 2007. It is starting to flake off around the head. Skyler's bubbled up and started falling off within hours, because he has hairy arms, and apparently the 25-cent type tattoos don't like to be applied over all that fuzz. Jed thought it was real. Apparently he thinks I am the sort of person who enjoys anchor-strangling cobras. Our friendship is now in question. Monday, August 13, 2007. Tragedy #1: The case of the overambitious haircut. I mean, ...

And after that I have to start fighting with everybody else for TA jobs and all that bizniz. But this means that I have the clear and available possibility of starting a totally awesome phd program next year without adding one more nasty cent to my already overwhelming debt. Yay! Sunday, February 3, 2008. Starting to ex...

PDX in the HVN: May 2008
http://eastcoastpdx.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
PDX in the HVN. Friday, May 30, 2008. Soon to be beyond the HVNs. And then I get the reminders. And a 'no' to the "do you need an ambulance? But dad-dude and I sort of agreed that the responses weren't convincing, and I called 911 to get an ambulance to come check him out - whether it was drugs or some psych thing, I dunno, but it seemed uncool to leave a guy rocking on the sidewalk, barely responsive. But really, what the fuck? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Back on the westside. View my complete profile.

Thursday, February 15, 2007. February 16, 2007 at 12:58 PM.
