The life and times of an MSLIS student. Friday, July 24, 2009. IST 511 - Day 4. The afternoon lecture was about expectations of patron privacy, intellectual freedom, and ethics. As a (former) card-carrying member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the American Library Association's code of ethics is somewhat familiar. I'm glad to say that I agree with everything the ALA's code of ethics stands for! Oops, almost forgot about the three S's of controversy: sex, satan, and suicide. Best of Not My Job.

It has been an interesting experience and has helped me on so many levels. I had some interesting discussions on the future of libraries, met new people, made new friends, and came away more energized and excited that I've felt in a long time.
