Adagio: July 2015
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. 7/31/15 Cleveland to Geneva on the Lake State Park. Shortly before entering the harbor at Geneva, our rudder angle sensor seemed to stop working. Ron took it off "navigate" and seemed to gain some manual control. The hard part was entering the harbor with beamy seas and limited steering. Once in the marina, the steering seemed to return to normal. Links to this post. 7/30/15 Second day in Cleveland. We should have made our own decision, because it was not good. I ordered a pork...

Sunday, August 2, 2015. 8/1/15 Geneva on the Lake, OH to Erie, PA. I said, "Could you give me that number? Dock hand, "I have no idea what it is". We decided to pull up to the dock and get a pump-out and possibly some better information. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to the journies of Adagio! Adagio: 8/10/15 Buffalo Launch Club to Brockport
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015/08/81015-buffalo-launch-club-to-brockport.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. 8/10/15 Buffalo Launch Club to Brockport. We reluctantly left BLC, one of our favorite all time marinas, and headed for the Erie Canal. We purchased a 10 day pass ($37.50) and traveled almost 70 miles to Brockport. There are many small towns, bridges and locks on the Erie Canal. Many of the fixed bridges are very low…the lowest is 14.5 feet and you must be able to get under this bridge. That keeps many boats from enjoying this part of the Canal. I’ll go and look.”. These small to...

Adagio: 8/4/15 Still in Erie
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015/08/8415-still-in-erie.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. 8/4/15 Still in Erie. Today was a work day. Ron washed the boat which was covered with bugs, and I did the laundry. Three meals meant lots of cooking, but it was nice to eat on board. We are expecting flat seas on Thursday, so tomorrow will be our last day here. We plan to make the 100 mile trip to Buffalo if conditions are good. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Adagio: 8/12/15 Fairport to Newark, NY
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015/08/81215-fairport-to-newark-ny.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. 8/12/15 Fairport to Newark, NY. The temp today was cool and we had some rain. Newark was recommended to us by several people, for good reason. This has been the friendliest reception we've had. The dockmaster came out to greet us and invited us to the office when it was convenient for us. They have free dockage along the town wall and free laundry, nice restrooms and showers in the dock master’s office building. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We started the "Great Loop" when...

Sea Sprite: January 2013
http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Winters are just too darn long. Yes it was a mild winter with very little snow but still winter. No trip south this year made it seem even longer. Once again I re-varnished the rudder and tiller. I also applied cetol to the new swing keel winch board. Built by our personal carpenter. (thanks George) Sometimes I wonder if stainless and fiberglass might look just fine. (AKA the Mulholland solution). With the knot meter and the depth sounder replaced...

Sea Sprite
http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2016/04/sailing-2015-to-start-i-am-not-best.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Okay to start I am not the best blogger. I do not update very often and have been even slower this time. I really have been putting this off. I broke one of the first rules of computers. Back up everything. I failed to do so and my hard drive failed taking most of my 2015 pics with it. LESSON LEARNED. We made our annual trip to the Toronto Boat Show. We went alone this year as we could not seem to set a date with the others. With advice from Gord,...

Sea Sprite: November 2008
http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Other winter work included removing the boom end cap and tightening the goose neck fittings, adding rings to hold the whisker pole on the stanchions and normal maintenance on the outboard. I also repaired the knot meter. We bought a sock for the spinnaker. We hope it makes it easier to handle. Life is good when you get in a little fishing while breakfast is cooking. We happily celebrated Canada Day at our favorite place with great friends. Bequia,...
