When Tian Shih and Penelope approached the cottage in the midst of the graveyard, they could see that it was in fact a very small farm, with a garden, a chicken coop, and a goat on a line. It seemed unlikely to Tian Shih that this could be a caretaker’s cottage with such an arrangement. Penelope stopped short of the porch steps. I know nothing of these customs.
