Hannah's Zambia Adventures: 01/01/2008 - 02/01/2008
http://hannahlantos.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 21, 2008. Warning: this is a looooong one. I thought about breaking it up into sections, but most of the “sections” are more connected than I thought… so, 2 pages on Israel, 2 on Peace Corps, 2 in response to a NYTimes article about Peace Corps and 2 are the article. Enjoy! So, I went; with two friends from here! But really, that’s the last time I was a full-fledged tourist there. I remember then the awe of the Old City, the first time I saw the “mud” at the bottom o...While I was there I...

Wednesday, October 17, 2007. The little shriek of joy as i ride my bike past some little kid who yells out "ba muzungu! It makes me smile and cringe. that i can be labeled so easily seems to contradict my universal american sensibilities. and yet, it's true. and her excitement at my passing can't help but make me want to be nice to her. do i challenge her stereotypes or do i just exist in her world of friendly white people? Does it really matter? Friday, October 12, 2007. First, happy birthday dad! On th...

Letting the World Change Me. Exploring, Giving, Learning, Seeing, Connecting. Zambia changed my life. I was there as a Peace Corps. Volunteer from January 2007 through September 2007. This was my first experience outside North America. Snail mail was like gold, blog posts. Were once a month treats, and phone calls were dependent upon the wind and catching a signal on the mountain behind my hut! I was posted to the Eastern Province in Chadiza District. My Life Story | Letting the World Change Me
https://charlyeramsey.wordpress.com/my-life-story
Letting the World Change Me. Exploring, Giving, Learning, Seeing, Connecting. My name is Charlye. I am named after my grandfather Charles Ramsey, a man who wore Liberty overalls nearly everyday. Most people I meet comment on my smile and my southern accent (not particularity in that order). There is no hiding the fact that I was born in Houston, Texas and raised in a small rural town (pop. 14,000) in middle Tennessee. I walked away a stronger, more determined person.
