Colyton Grammar: Schools Marine Challenge. Friday, May 26, 2006. The Colyton Solar Challenge: Race Day! Hectic from start to finish the Year 8’s worked tirelessly in teams to configure, test and hone their scratch built solar powered model boats. Weather was generally wet and overcast on Race Day but by no means did it dampen the spirits of all students involved! More than just a boat race. A comment from a pupil at the end of the day summed up the whole event. Through to the final. The Bows of Death.

Colyton Grammar: Schools Marine Challenge. Friday, June 30, 2006. Vacuum Forming at Easiform Products. Easiform Products, Dulford (nr. Cullompton) gave us valuable assistance in vacuum forming over our fibre glass hull in a final attempt to reduce weight. The HIPS (High Imact Polystyrene) hull is now 70% lighter (only 250g) and should give us a definite performance advantage.
