Julia in France: Food for thought
http://julia-in-france.blogspot.com/2008/12/food-for-thought.html
Lundi 15 décembre 2008. Which is more corrupt, Illinois or Louisiana? Louisiana without a doubt; never underestimate the manipulative cunning of Southerners. The slow Southern drawl is a ploy to throw you off! Just my (tongue in cheek)two cents. 16 décembre 2008 à 18:28:00 UTC 1. Inscription à : Publier les commentaires (Atom). Julia in France: février 2008
http://julia-in-france.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Jeudi 28 février 2008. Monday morning I was feeling rather sad I had not overpacked my bag with more changes of clothes. Oh well. We headed out that day on a winding way back to Lyon, stopping to see some sights along the way. We made a quick stop in Germigny-des-Prés to check out the 11th century Carolingian church. It was built by Theodulf of Orléans. In 806 and is one of France's oldest churches. Liens vers cet article. Mercredi 27 février 2008. The accidental 3-day weekend. Needless to say, B changed...

Julia in France: Cassis
http://julia-in-france.blogspot.com/2008/12/cassis.html
Dimanche 14 décembre 2008. Our last trip was down to Cassis, which is on the Mediterranean 20 km from Marseilles, the weekend of the 6th of December. It was lovely to have some sunshine and warmer weather. Although this photo doesnt really do it justice, the houses were painted bright shades of yellow and pink. The main part of Cassis surrounds a harbor, and the buildings on the water are mostly restaurants. It also had a small and rocky beach, where some people were actually swimming. Frog with a blog.

Lundi 15 décembre 2008. Which is more corrupt, Illinois or Louisiana? Liens vers cet article. Goodbye party at work. Amy and I are leaving work on the same day, so we had our goodbye party together. We benefited from the proximity to St Lucia's day, as Ann brought in homemade saffron buns, the yummy Swedish specialty. What a bummer it was to say goodbye to everyone. Amy opening her gift. And me opening mine. Elisabeth, Mia, Farhad, me, and Amy. Setting up the champagne. Liens vers cet article. The most n...

Julia in France: mai 2008
http://julia-in-france.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Vendredi 16 mai 2008. On the second day we hired a guide- the going rate was 250 dirham for a half-day, which is equivalent to 20 euros. Here are some of the things we saw. We were first taken to the old Jewish quarter, and taken to see an old synagogue. Here is a pic. An old rabbi took our picture. This is the main gate of the city, which was only built in 1968. The Bab Boujeloud Gate at the entrance to the medina. One side is green- the color of Islam- and the other is blue, the color of Fez. There is ...

Julia in France: janvier 2008
http://julia-in-france.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Mardi 22 janvier 2008. A group of my coworkers were going to Porto this weekend so I went along. Here are some photos. Here is the main square, La Praça da Liberdade. Portugal seems to be enamored of elaborate tilework, which is often in blue. Elisabeth, whose family is from Porto, advised we check out this bookstore, la librarie Lello e Irmão. It was gorgeous inside. We took a walking tour of the older part of town. This is the Rua da Flores. Porto had many baroque and Rococo churches. I am delighted to...
