Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: Final thoughts
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/final-thoughts.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Monday, 12 July 2010. I will admit it was hardly matadors versus total football, but I found the World Cup Final. Quite riveting. Blood, thunder, sweat and tears. it was all there and I was glad it was won within the 120 minutes and not have to go to the lottery of a penalty shoot-out. Of course I was saddened by the Dutch defeat but less bothered by the way the Dutch played than almost everyone else. It was dancers versus thugs'. In many ways the Final summed up the who...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: Man Utd launch new shirt
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/man-utd-launch-new-shirt.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Thursday, 15 July 2010. Man Utd launch new shirt. If I was still working in Chicago I no doubt would be heading across the street to Millennium Park. Later this morning to attend my companies worldwide unveiling of the new Manchester Utd shirt. Blazoned with my companies name on the front of it. Last night clients and employees were invited to watch players train at Toyota Park. Aon signed a 4-year 80m deal a year ago. The away kit yet to be released is supposed to be an...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: Facts and fiction?
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/facts-and-fiction.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Friday, 16 July 2010. A lot of Charlton related stuff going on. Yesterday I think the general feeling was of delight after reading the announcement of Christian Dailly's new one-year deal. Rumours of Danny Wilson at Swindon stealing a march on us quickly went away as last season's player of the year agreed to stay at The Valley, I hope as club captain. Lera can do a job on the left too, which with Grant Basey up in Aberdeen on trial. Addicks with nothing to do (like me) ...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: Wish I had ginger hair too..
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/wish-i-had-ginger-hair-too.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Wednesday, 7 July 2010. Wish I had ginger hair too. So those Southend morons who booed Nicky Bailey's every touch last season will hopefully feel slightly less acerbic now that the money winging it's way to them for the cut of his transfer fee to Middlesbrough will probably save them from being wound up this week. The Ginger One's long drawn out transfer to Boro was completed today. I look forward to Saturday's team at AFC Wimbledon. All Quiet in the East Stand. Ten thin...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: My Chicago - #16 Chinatown
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2008/05/my-chicago-16-chinatown.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Friday, 16 May 2008. My Chicago - #16 Chinatown. Centered around Cermak Road and Wentworth Avenue south of the downtown area near the Red Line 'L' train stop, recently the scene of a tragic accident. It was established in 1905 when a number of restaurants, shops and laundries (430 in total! Were opened by Chinese immigrants, many of whom had ridden the railroad away from the Pacific Coast. In August is the curious Miss Chicago Chinese Pageant. And in the Autumn is the Do...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: Famous Bermudians - Shaun Goater
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/famous-bermudians-shaun-goater.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Thursday, 8 July 2010. Famous Bermudians - Shaun Goater. The first in what will believe me be a short series. Clearly recognisable by his charming smile I often see Shaun Goater driving his kids to school or just hanging out talking to some of the locals. There is no hero- worshipping here though despite his achievements elsewhere, Goater is more respected than revered by Bermudians. Encouraged by his football-obssessed Mum and well known Bermudian football coach Andrew ...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: Mont Royal
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/mont-royal.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Sunday, 25 July 2010. A mountain is stretching the meaning a bit far as it peaks only at around 700 ft but we had a glorious feet-aching walk up it today and got a birdeye's view of the city of Montreal. Nearby is a 103ft-high illuminated cross that has been one of Montreal's most famous landmarks since 1924. Then on top of the mountain lie two vast cemeteries offering a tranquil moment in time. All Quiet in the East Stand. Views from an Iberian Valley. All in a Day.

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Tuesday, 20 February 2007. Click on Photo's for a larger view. See River Plate v Lanús post. After living in Chicago for four and a half years, I moved to the beautiful if bewildering island of Bermuda in July 2008. This blog is about being an exiled and depressed Charlton Athletic fan and whatever else the day brings. All Quiet in the East Stand. Views from an Iberian Valley. Drinking During the Game. All in a Day. And Nothing Else Matters. Out in the rain. Make your ow...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: My Chicago - #1 Bucktown
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2005/07/my-chicago-1-bucktown.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Sunday, 3 July 2005. My Chicago - #1 Bucktown. I got in a cab once to Bucktown and the driver said to me:. You know what, me and my wife sold our little house around here 20 years ago for $50,000. I saw it advertised in the paper this morning on the market for $800,000.". The Artists have now all but disappeared moving further south to Wicker Park and Ukranian Village, forced out by rising rents and property values. 1572 N Milwaukee Ave) is a popular live music venue and...

Chicago Addick living in Bermuda: L'Oranje
http://chicagoaddick.blogspot.com/2010/07/loranje.html
Chicago Addick living in Bermuda. Sunday, 11 July 2010. I've written many times of how I first fell in love with the game of football. I accept that as a 7-year old my life was lived behind rose coloured spectacles, but that Johann Cruyff led 1974 Dutch team played the game as if it was a dream. Without any help I can recite that 1974 Dutch team (right) and I cried my little eyes out when The Kaiser lifted the trophy in Munich. The Total Football generation ended abruptly without a deserved title and the...
