When a young woman drops by to greet her new neighbours, her preconceptions of who is responsible for a horrendous tragedy hinges on a face and a note. A short film supported by MetroScreen, Frances and Annie, forces its audience to confront prejudice head-on. After reading a dictionary definition, describing disability as ‘tragic’, Bus Stop Films wanted to engage in creating a film that questioned this perception and helped audiences reflect on what their view of disability encompasses.

Two people living with a disability navigate through family and societal pressures as their relationship blossoms. Beautiful was a short film created in Canberra with the Through a Different Lens Project, with Executive Producer Caro Roach at its helm. Bus Stop Films was asked to implement our inclusive filmmaking model and work with local Canberra talent to make a short film. Work Mate is an innovative short-film initiative, commissioned by Australia Post to be used as a Disability Awareness Training resource within Australia Post. The program was funded by The National Disability Employment Initiative (NDEI) administered by Workfocus Australia. Taste Creative asked Bus Stop Films to come on board to provide an inclusive filmmaking element to this project that was all about celebrating workplace diversity and promoting understanding of those living with disabilities.

An art project transforming bus stops into pop up art galleries. In August of 2016, the startup team at Vango Art. An online marketplace for selling art, met with San Francisco based artist, Elissa Patel. During their conversation, they discussed the climate of art in San Francisco given many of the galleries in the city have closed. Ethan Appleby, CEO at Vango Art, and Dpak Kanda. After the initial conversation, Dpak and Elissa collaborated to create the very first exhibition.
