Hamptons Poetry Retreat | For Instants
https://walkandalie.com/2015/06/hamptons-poetry-retreat
June 13th, 2015. A few weekends ago was one of my favorites in a long time because it joined some of my favorite things in the world: poetry, fresh food, getting out of the city, and the beach. On Friday, I took the Long Island Railroad out to Hampton Bays to participate in a poetry retreat with Brooklyn Poets. I came back inspired and bubbling over with book suggestions. Just wanted to share a few photos of the weekend to remember it, all taken on my iPhone. Here’s a poem. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Alternative Apparel – Brooklyn Poets Swag
http://swag.brooklynpoets.org/pages/alternative-apparel
We use Alternative Apparel for all our swag, by far the best T-shirt wholesalers in the world, in our opinion. That's Alternative. Not American. If our T-shirts seem a little pricey to you, that's because they're well-made. We like Alternative Apparel not only for their fashion-conscious fit and ridiculously soft vintage washes, but for their commitment to community and the environment. From the Alternative Apparel website:. Click here to read more about Alternative's commitment to social responsibility.

I wish one day to be reclaimed. I wish to be pierced through the breast. I wish for my heart to be clenched tightly. By the smooth grips of her extended beak. I wish that all goodness, love, and joy flood every chamber. By the moment she excises it from my body. I wish it flown swiftly to the interior edge of the tropopause. By a desperate ascent against the pulls of gravity and mortality. I wish for angelic resuscitation there at journey's almost-end. By a merciful Virtue. I have an enemy-. Till joy top...
Brooklyn Poetry | Spoken from the heart, Word from the start.
Spoken from the heart, Word from the start. July 31, 2015. The world stand still for a moment. Each night at sunset. To pause and watch the light fade,. As if to acknowledge the sun. For a job well done–. We’ll see you when we spin round again,. How fun will that be but, sun,. For a moment let’s pour out one. For the day’s work and guiding light. And to welcome the transition to the dark of night. Where stars pepper the fabric of space. Black but for the glow. Of these New York City lights. This me, my, I.

Brooklyn Point of View
Brooklyn Point of View. Common sense. With no pulled punches. Sunday, November 4, 2012. Sorry I Ate Your Peanuts. My brother told me a story not too long ago. It’s funny as all get out. I want to share it with you and then I have a serious point to make. But first levity…. As everyone tried not to hurl, my brother hollered with laughter. Boy was he glad he didn’t eat any of those peanuts! Which brings me to my point. What are you feeding yourself? How many people have touched it before you? That was over...
