In my kitchen, talking to the backsplash. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Garden update: Day 12. I am very pleased to announce great progress in my garden. Mixed chicory blend (top); French Breakfast radishes (m); Parisienne carrots (bottom, r); arugula (bottom, m); and Thai chili pepper (bottom, l). Links to this post.

In my kitchen, talking to the backsplash. Friday, April 23, 2010. Yes, I know, my god, why is she posting more pictures about that damn garden of hers? Sunday, August 29, 2010. Last week we said goodbye to one of the girls. Andromeda, aka Romy, was Ms. Tina (in the background) latest housemate. They would occasionally hang out in the front window or under the dining room table (here they hid) but typically they held to their territory or enjoyed a good scream and slap around session. I hope Romy finds friends in Tess, Garden Kitty, Nocturne, Mr. Mann, and all our other animal friends who are waiting for their 2 legged humans to come back to them. This y...

Sunday, August 21, 2011. Christmas in July by the book. Our public library has a summer reading program of course, but in addition to encouraging the kids to read more through the summer they also encourage the adults with recording booklets and prizes. With this motivation and to further encourage my pair, I signed up for. Part of my method was to trick my mind into thinking the coming heat wouldn't be as noticed. Sunday, July 10, 2011. And I lost so many hours looking up family, finding friends, and making comments to all of thee above. Wow, Facebook is a TOTAL time suck. So here's a very brief update of the news and happenings. Spring break brought a visit of my parents. We had fair weather but a wonderful time, including a drive around town with Grammy, a four generation photo op, and opening day for the TinCaps. Tuesday, April 13, 2010. For years I've looked through cooking store, restaurant suppliers, and even thrift shops for a 12 cup muffin pan similar to those I inherited from my Nana. She gave me two Worthmore aluminum 6 cup muffin pans which are perfection. The pans are pressed aluminum so there is no seam between the cup and the pan top. Looking further through the seller's items I found a set of aluminum measuring spoons and an ice cream spoon. Nana's kitchen held spoons like these too. This time, I plac...
