Adventures of a Bookonaut: Change in reviewing procedures

http://bookonaut.blogspot.com/2015/05/change-in-reviewing-procedures.html

Australian Specfic Small Press. Aus Women Writers 2014. May 15, 2015. Change in reviewing procedures. So it appears that my faithful backup ereader, the old Sony PRS 505 is finally dying (8 yrs versus 11 months for my Kobo Vox). At this point in time I can’t afford the outlay on a new reader( or a new phone) so I will be finishing off previously accepted ebook reviews by laptop. Did you enjoy this post? I can't wait for my contributor copy to arrive even though I won't be able to read it. I have so many goals! Any specific ones of course are secondary to the primary goal of continuing to write and to keep improving. As you can proba...

Australian Specfic Small Press. Aus Women Writers 2014. May 17, 2015. Book Review – Ross Poldark by Winston Graham. A fan of the currently airing BBC Poldark television series(the second they have made), I picked up a 1968 Fonatana edition of the first novel Ross Poldark. The novel was first published in 1945 and seems to have launched the career of Winston Graham – he went on to write 11 more books in the series and an additional 32 novels right up until his death in 2003. Ross, nevertheless sets about ...

Australian Specfic Small Press. Aus Women Writers 2014. Sep 18, 2014. EBook Review – The Bitterwood Bible and Other Recountings by Angela Slatter. The Bitterwood Bible and Other Recountings. From Tartarus, is then the first collection that I have read in its entirety. It’s also possibly the first mosaic novel that I have read. Terrible as an Army with Banners,. Slatter crafts an effective piece of epistolary fiction. The Maiden in the Ice. For a while she tries to keep her eyes firmly fixed on her destin...

My very complicated reaction to issue 202 of the Bulletin - Mary Robinette Kowal

http://maryrobinettekowal.com/journal/my-very-complicated-reaction-to-issue-202-of-the-bulletin

My very complicated reaction to issue 202 of the Bulletin. I am finally starting to surface from the OMG all of the deadlines hit at once. I’m not. Mind you, but things are spacing out enough that I can actually look at this website thingie I have. I thought about blogging about the past couple of weeks, or what I’m up to and then… the issue 202 of the SFWA Bulletin came out. I have a very complicated reaction to this. I hope you welcome her! What one lesson was hardest for you to swallow in the industry? How do you fight the worry of being a failure? When does writing a go...
