Bokashi in the Philippines | Jenny's Bokashi Blog

https://bokashiworld.wordpress.com/2009/06/12/bokashi-in-the-philippines

Jenny's Bokashi Blog. Bokashi in the world. Bokashi in the Philippines. June 12, 2009. Anyway, here the Manilla Bulletin Publishing Corporation. The US Department of Agriculture has recently done some research into whether this works or not and came up with a positive result — yes, EM improves productivity, provided it is added in conjunction with organic material. Yes, we can get it right! Read more here on REAP Canada’s website. What’s Bokashi got to do with lunch? March 1, 2011 at 9:07 am. We’ve...

Jenny's Bokashi Blog. Even pet waste can be recycled with Bokashi. April 15, 2011. I’ve had a few questions lately about cat litter and how to use it in conjunction with Bokashi. There’s a lot of good information here on Bokashicycle,. A great US-based company working with Bokashi in many applications. And good luck with those cat trays! Jenny's Bokashi Blog. All posts by JennyH. A Kiwi girl in Sweden, 50 and not counting. Trying to add my bit to help make the world more liveable for the future. Coffee grounds. Free to a good home. March 30, 2016. Please take some coffee grinds for your garden! What gardener could resist that? Well, unfortunately I had to as I was just a tourist passing by. But I was seriously tempted to drag some home to the friends we were staying with. A few years ago I did a deal with the local bakery/cafe to pick up...

Jenny's Bokashi Blog. Make your own “soil factory”! September 12, 2009. 8230;and as you can see, it’s not in the least complicated! This is a great way of putting your fermented Bokashi to use without having to dig holes or mess around with compost. Best of all, it’s really quick and easy and you won’t get your hands, clothes or shoes dirty. When you have a look in a couple of weeks you’ll see there’s more soil and less food. Your soil factory is doing its work! You can run your soil factory more or less...

Bokashi instead of chemicals in El Salvador | Jenny's Bokashi Blog

Jenny's Bokashi Blog. Bokashi instead of chemicals in El Salvador. November 15, 2013. Interesting. Inspiring. And a positive boost to the hope account. After years of hard-hitting chemical usage, local communities in El Salvador are going green. Out with Monsanto and its “free” seeds, in with EM and Bokashi. Have a read. This, I promise, will leave you inspired! Http:/ www.care2.com/causes/a-new-agricultural-revolution-takes-root-in-el-salvador.html. Using silage with Bokashi as mulch. You are commenting...

bokashislope: October 2010

Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Sunday, October 31, 2010. After the bucket: Good bug, bag bug? Even on Hallowe'en, I'm not inclined to frighten anyone too badly, so no appropriate insect photo today. Besides, I like Dr. Seuss. And wasn’t really surprised, though I was disappointed, to discover that only the one with the critters. It’s the other detritus-clearers that I have issues with. Sowbugs and so on may eat seeds and sometimes sprouts, so if they’re in the compost, I...BSFL eat larg...

Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Thursday, May 26, 2011. Sorry for the formatting—I'm having blogger issues again. Image from espressoplanet, no connection though I lost some time browsing their offerings.]. Single-serve = more packaging. I know. And K-cups are ridiculously easy to throw away, all neatly packed even after use, while being nearly impossible to dispose of responsibly. If only they didn't make such good coffee! Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Thursday, November 25, 2010. There was a fire at the apartment, and between the fire, fire fighters, and presumably helpful cleaners afterwards.well, let's call it a fresh start. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. From teh Interwebs: A Repulsive Idea. An experiment I wouldn't have done, but a question I get asked fairly frequently- now I can just tell folks to go read about Heather's. Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Saturday, June 11, 2011. Image from Animal Diversity Web. The cover wasn't well secured, and I hadn't bothered with weights, so it was my own fault; next time I'll know better. But that was no help for this. A bag one of these Texas Blind Snakes had adopted for a home. But I'm a gardener with only limited space, and the presence of a raised bed full of largely composted matter eventually proved too great a temptation. So I grabbed the longest-handled s...

Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Tales from the Bucket: The Stone Soup Bucket. Image from the Florida invasive plants site. Before moving to Texas, I had never encountered the term “trash tree.” Until chinaberries and scrub elm, I'd never thought to use it. But chinaberries.well, I suppose they have their place, but there are far too many of them in my limited growing space. Unless, of course, you're short on composts, funds, and resources altogether. http://bokashislope.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Sunday, January 9, 2011. Bought myself a new bottle of EM-1. Though it doesn't say that on the label. Back when I started playing with bokashi, I did the math and determined that buying the liquid inoculant plus molasses and bran was much cheaper than purchasing dried EM bokashi bran. It's even cheaper if you activate the EM-1, which can be used as is, skipping the bran altogether, or used to inoculate a dry carrier if that's the preference*. It's not the ...

Holding at a particular point until ready to use. Really. I may be something of a miser when it comes to finished vermicast, but all the other composts, plant foods, and rooting media are there to be used- I'll just make more. (Verne et cie. Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Thursday, September 23, 2010. Image from The Nourished Kitchen. The Internet is an amazing place. Yikes I've been spending too much time around eggheads lately. -G- Where was I? Molasses, alternatives to, right. Don't get me wrong, I love molasses. In the kitchen and the garden both (ginger snaps and AEM/AIM come immediately to mind). Microbes eat my garbage! Or something like that. Saturday, July 30, 2011. Tales from the Bucket: Dirt Nap. No, that's not the reason I've been silent (fortunately), but the current bokashi-bucket tweak. Some disciplined container gardeners "rest" mixes between use in order to prevent pathogen transfer, discourage insects, and limit the spread of pot-weeds. I'm not often that disciplined- typically, if I have a container full of potting mix, there are three plants on hand I could put in it! Digging a hole...

The tomato plants have blossoms, Repulsive the BSFL bucket is starting to squirm, and the cleavers have both blossoms and burrs- spring has well and truly sprung. Which apparently means it's time for my mind to turn to new and different ways to make up for the continued lack of holes in the ground or unused outdoor space in which in which I might practice lazy "cold" composting.
