Of the 1863 Boerum Hill brownstone we love, renovations we undertake, and occasional observations we have about our new community. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Many beautiful sights in the demo process. Its amazingly liberating to see and feel the changes within the house. It feels like the house is beginning to breathe again and wriggle out of its 140 year old skin. There's alot of debris, but its a new beginning and new life is forming. Out of the ashes. Posted by boerumowner at 12:13 AM.

A sailor's view of Brooklyn and New York City. Friday, September 22, 2006. We've seen a lot of stupid boat names in our years on the water. Big power boats with names like Blue Chip and Mai Tai. But there is one boat that deserves dubious distinction: The Tartan 10 Tar Baby. You gotta draw a line somewhere, and maybe that line is in the vicinity of naming a boat Tar Baby. Summer We...

A sailor's view of Brooklyn and New York City. Tuesday, August 08, 2006. Haulin' Land Over Water. Part of Brooklyn's offshore appeal for recreational boaters is the fact that in certain areas there is very little commercial activity. That doesn't mean that commercial traffic is non existent. Recently, we saw this very large barge hauling, what appeared to be a massive mound of earth off of Breezy Point heading toward Jamaica Bay. Posted by Brooklyn Salt @ 7:34 PM. Links to this post.
