The oven went out on thanksgiving before i had a chance to finish baking the pumpkin custard tart. i had the tart shell baked, but not the custard. i was ready to toss the shell, but then decided i should at least try it first. i was nervous about it because i'd had to futz with it a lot to make it workable. but it was really tasty! Monday, July 19, 2010. A Fresh Start and a Countdown! It's been forever since I actually did anything with this blog! I've thought about deleting it and forgetting the whole experiment. But I've decided to give it another try. So, with a cute new design, here's the new start. In exciting news, BabyBug is due very soon! We don't know boy or girl, but we do know that he or she will be arriving by next Wednesday. That's right. just a little over 8 days until I get to hold this precious little one!

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. We got home this afternoon from a couple of days in Michigan. We spent Sunday afternoon at the beach, which was the highlight of the trip, especially for Miss Alicia. We couldn't do any true swimming because the currents were too strong. But we were able to do a little wading and played in the sand for hours! We spent Monday at the Deer Forest park. Alicia enjoyed the kiddie rides and feeding the animals. It was cute. Friday, June 26, 2009. I have 2 classes down, just 10 to go.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Today was Alicia's preschool field trip to Fair Oaks Dairy Farm. We had so much fun! I'm so glad that I was able to take the time off and make the trip, even if it was a long day. Alicia did not enjoy the 4D show. Especially when the cow, um, eliminated. "Tell it to stop, Mama! She did love the bouncy thing outside, though! And seeing the newborn cows. And she's in school with the daughter of one of the girls I grew up with. How fun! Wednesday, September 09, 2009.

Monday, December 28, 2009. So, the group that did the November daily blogging finished up the topics at the beginning of December. Obviously, I fell behind again. So, I will attempt to catch up. I spent my summer vacation spending time with my sweet family. We spent a couple of days on the beach, letting Alicia do lots of playing in the sand. Lots of fun! Tuesday, November 29, 2005. A salute to perkins. I love perkins. i have loved it since i first tried it about 5 years ago. so yesterday afternoon, all the restaurants closed down due to all this "blizzard conditions" garbage. so what did perkins do? They sent boxes and boxes of goodies to the surrounding hotels. veggies, soup, muffins, pies. all good stuff. so needless to say, we ate breakfast at perkins this morning. how could we not, after they gave us free food last night?
