Sharing the struggles of learning life's lessons. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Celebrating the New Year. On New Year's eve everyone gets together and 包饺子 (baojiaozi - wrap dumplings). Jiaozi, or dumplings are made with ground beef or pork and some chopped vegetables then wrapped with a small flour wrap. Usually there are a few coins put in several of them (whoever gets those will have fortune in the new year, and they are usually required to sing a song for fun during the meal). Sharing the struggles of learning life's lessons. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Around The World In 8 Years. I can now say that I have flown around the world! I think that's pretty cool. It may have taken me 7 1/2 years to do it, but I have done it! In the past month and a half we have traveled to south China, Beihai (which is in between Hong Kong and Vietnam), then made our way to South Korea for a few days. The next leg of our trip was to England for a couple weeks and then finally off to the USA.

Here I am 1 week from my due date, a time of excitement and anticipation, a time to celebrate new life, nervous . . . And I find my self crying, grieving, morning the loss of a life. A young 10 year old boy who should be outside playing in the sun, riding a bike, running around chasing his friends but instead he is moving on from this earth. Blessed Be Your Name.

The next day my husband and I got quite a workout shoveling the 16 inches of snow in the driveway and off the cars. Once we recovered we took the kids out to play, it was beautiful! Someday this will say something brilliant. Posted on 24 May, 2015. It can be strange to think about the small things in life that wind up having a major impact on your entire person. For me, one of those things was discovering John Scalzi and his books. But, I should pause here and give a bit of back story. This left me with a void to fill, because while TGB was out, there was no more Scalzi for me to read. It was here that I found his blog. Whatever. I got one, though, not too long after I sent mine.
