February | 2015 | Craig Buchek's Blog

http://blog.craigbuchek.com/2015/02

Craig Buchek's Blog. Monthly Archives: February 2015. I’ve been following the situation in Ferguson pretty closely over the past 6 months. I’m not sure what happened between Mike Brown and Officer Darren Wilson. I think my sister-in-law said it best when she said that they probably both ended up operating from their “lizard brains” — adrenaline and emotions taking over — and the result was more violent than it otherwise might have been. Back in November, Alex Miller from Strange Loop tweeted. For organiz...

Craig Buchek's Blog. One Person Can Change The World. I grew up in North St. Louis County, a few miles Ferguson. My family has roots in Ferguson. My grandpa had a barber shop there. I remember visiting my great grandmother in Ferguson. My mom said when she was a kid, she liked to go there because they had squirrels. Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson. Was put in charge, there was more hope. Hearing that Captain Johnson was standing down the SWAT teams, and then seeing him talking to and walking ...

September | 2015 | Craig Buchek's Blog

Craig Buchek's Blog. Monthly Archives: September 2015. I Made a Mistake. I made a mistake. Even worse, it hurt someone that I like, admire, and respect. I was at a conference, and one of the attendees tweeted a picture captioned “Bros everywhere”. The implication was that the ratio of women to men was seriously imbalanced. I replied that another conference had better diversity, and they should ask how they did it. Diversity and inclusion. I think this colored my perception of that conference as. Another ...

Some words from me

Some words from me. A lot of what I say will be of no interest to anyone, but I will say it anyway. Will be a site that will contain numerous calculators to work out how much can be won at a bookie. A bookie will often tell you the maximum of what you can win, but they rarely (Bet365 aside) tell you all the possible winning combinations. The site will increase over time, but to start with, there is a lucky 15 calculator. And a patent calculator. May 19th, 2015. Betfair link on SFF predictor. May 8th, 2015.

Okay call me Richard Beltzer, but after passing this crime scene yesterday, I deduced that some pretty sleazy shit had gone down. I could not however be 100% positive. All I had was a Lexus with a smashed rear window parked on the curb next to a fire hydrant. I needed better evidence that douchebaggery had been afoot. I’m guessing coconut and sperm.). It’s...

Program Notes and Concert Talks. Posted by Craig Combs. 7 January 2014, 3:48 pm. I’ve often asked myself how I might make these dry, academic texts more palatable to the average audience? Over the course of the year, I will post my talks to this blog and call them Performance Chats. Aside: if you’ve never heard of TED tal...
