Bittersweet Design Studio: Sewing with my Mother
http://bittersweetdesignstudio.blogspot.com/2014/05/sewing-with-my-mother.html
My work and my life - the two appear to be inseparable! Thursday, May 1, 2014. Sewing with my Mother. Listening to my daughter's music. They are both here with me - even though they aren't. One is gone - 3 months now since she left this world behind, one is away - crafting an incredible and amazing new life. I listen to the hum of the sewing machine and it is like a cat's purr; comforting, reassuring, reminding me so much of my mother. They fill my heart, surround me, make me ache, cry and smile. Say No ...

Bittersweet Design Studio: On this day 55 years ago
http://bittersweetdesignstudio.blogspot.com/2014/12/on-this-day-55-years-ago.html
My work and my life - the two appear to be inseparable! Wednesday, December 17, 2014. On this day 55 years ago. I was born, three weeks premature, to a young woman, an unwed mother, a student at university, in Philadelphia. This wonderful young woman made the ultimate sacrifice. Despite the social mores of the day, she chose to carry me for 9 months (well - almost), and then do the unthinkable. My mother loved us fiercely. Both my brother and I have now celebrated our first birthdays without her....

Bittersweet Design Studio: I truly enjoy my Creativity
http://bittersweetdesignstudio.blogspot.com/2014/04/i-love-creativity.html
My work and my life - the two appear to be inseparable! Saturday, April 12, 2014. I truly enjoy my Creativity. Can I just say that my mom would have loved Etsy if it had been around years ago? There were SO many times that we would be working on something together and needed a particular 'special item' to finish off our project. Of course, we would probably end up creating it ourselves. I am a great believer in the idea that clothing should be fun. Maybe this is where my daughter gets the idea that I was...
