Feminist, pro-choice, full spectrum doula-in-training in the San Francisco Bay Area. Monday, October 17, 2011. My First Birth Experience. Mom managed to sleep for 3-4 hours and got the much needed rest that she needed. She began pushing around 2:00am, and pushed for a couple of hours before the baby started to get distressed.
