As of recently, with the #OscarsSoWhite topic being put onto the main stage for the second year in a row, I have again noticed a deep ideological divide among Black people, that isn't at all new. It's the argument between creating our own and not looking for white acceptance and that of wanting recognition and inclusion based on merit. My own stance has flip-flopped from the former to the latter and I'll explain why.
