Bev's Colorado Garden: The Beautiful Blues
http://bevscoloradogarden.blogspot.com/2008/06/beautiful-blues.html
Gardening at the foot of Pikes Peak. Monday, June 16, 2008. Iris and May Night Salvia. I just about made it for GBBD for June! But being only a day late is not all that bad, considering this is the first month I have made this year! Seems to be a theme going here, and it's BLUE. I do love blue/purple flowers and they are in abundance in my gardens this time of the year. HUGE leaves of Japanese Anemone due to my special winter mix. A few daisies to break up all of the blue. Monday, 16 June, 2008. I rememb...
Bev's Colorado Garden: April 2008
http://bevscoloradogarden.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Gardening at the foot of Pikes Peak. Monday, April 21, 2008. Don't Like the Weather? That's what they say about Colorado. I think the rest of the sentence is something like 5 minutes. There are many areas of the country that use this saying, but in Colorado, we really mean it! Here we are, all cleaned up and ready to go for another year. I love this Silver Sage. Temperature was in the 70's. And here we are a couple of days later. Andhere we are the next day. Back to Spring again! Pasque Flowers a week ago.
Bev's Colorado Garden: March 2008
http://bevscoloradogarden.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Gardening at the foot of Pikes Peak. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. March Continues Like a Lion, For Me. Looking back over March, I can't believe so much has happened. This month now seems like a year. Lots of good and lots of difficult times. So, please excuse this self-indulging post before I get on with the 2008 gardening season. Don't most of us mothers think like this? We had a couple pretty good snow storms so far in March, including a good one Easter Sunday. They melted fast and have added lots of...
Bev's Colorado Garden: November 2007
http://bevscoloradogarden.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Gardening at the foot of Pikes Peak. Thursday, November 29, 2007. Nature Redecorates for Fall. It was a cold, windy day yesterday. I decided to bundle up and take a break from household chores and take a brief walk outside. Having just finished redecorating my living room and choosing a color palette, I was conscious of the colors that greeted me. Can you imagine any more beautiful color combinations that those provided by nature? Dusty greens, bronze and beige, accented by a touch of silver. A light sno...
Bev's Colorado Garden: August 2007
http://bevscoloradogarden.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Gardening at the foot of Pikes Peak. Friday, August 31, 2007. Another GREAT thing about the verbenas is how they attract butterflies way into the fall when other plants have stopped being much of a food source. Especially the Painted Ladies. So, if you are looking for a very well behaved, versatile, and happy little bloomer, verbenas can't be beat. They go well in rock gardens too. Here with Corsican Violas and Victoria Blue Salvia. The Serenity Mix has beautiful pastel colors. Here it is finally(! I pla...

Sunday, November 16, 2014. The miscanthus standing tall a few weeks ago. And the snow didn't beat it down. It still looks fine and feathery. Before I shovel my walks and driveway I brush the snow off the ornamental grasses. I have my priorities. Im glad that you were prepared! Keep warm and lets hope that the rest of the winter is milder and that we have an early spring! Wednesday, June 18, 2014. It looks like Monet just painted my garden. I love this app called "Waterlogue." I'm sure I'll be bored with it soon but for now here are the watercolor renderings followed by the real thing. So if you want to be an artist, apparently there's an app for that! Links to this post. Lost Roses: Hunting for summer
http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2015/03/hunting-for-summer.html
Thursday, March 12, 2015. I just came back from a Mexico vacation. While I was in Mexico there was snowstorm after snowstorm at home. I felt bad for my neighbors who I knew were taking turns shoveling my walks and driveways while I walked the beach in search of sea glass. I have good neighbors. It called to me. But wait, was I being rash? Do I need another bedspread? Well, of course. Does it look too old lady-ish? Glad that its summer in your bedroom already! Brandi, if it werent for the change of season...
Lost Roses: Antlers?
http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014/10/antlers.html
Sunday, October 26, 2014. Every blog I look at is featuring some fall decorating. Mantles are big, so are front porches. I did stick a little pumpkin on my porch thus depriving the squirrels of their usual carnage on the large display of pumpkins and gourds. But I decided that probably wasn't quite enough. Maybe a centerpiece for the table? I rooted around in the storage room and found this stuff. I cut the heads off my red hydrangeas, now a dusty rose. They'd still eat it. And here's what I came up with.

Lost Roses: December 2014
http://lost-roses.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 14, 2014. Signs of snow and Christmas. I like to read decorating blogs to see how out of touch I am. Right now they're all showing their winter mantels. Here's mine. The very summery chaise with its big pink and rose floral design gets a furry shrug for winter. Nice and cozy for TV watching and book reading. Easy to whip off when the warm breezes blow again. Behind that is the hutch with all my seashell stuff. It's year-round too. So I stuck some juniper and spruce branches from ...And m...
