How Far Do You Wanna Go? The Life of An ALT in Gifu, Japan. 外国人口 So you want to be an alien? A long time between drinks but a short post on what it means to be a foreigner in Japan (specifically what it is to be an Australian in Gifu)…. Older and still far away | How Far Do You Wanna Go?
https://bennyinjapan.wordpress.com/2011/12/18/older-and-still-far-away
How Far Do You Wanna Go? The Life of An ALT in Gifu, Japan. Older and still far away. Can I make it one? And a possible roadtrip to somewhere new but mostly I will be hibernating. So what exactly have I been doing that has led to all of this? Ok rant over, what next? But I leave this post with a little bit of music…. And by the way, I have no hair now. It’s an interesting change. I kind of wonder what my crazy thing will be next year…. Until next time…. Laquo; Go Go Summer! Date : December 18, 2011.

How Far Do You Wanna Go? The Life of An ALT in Gifu, Japan. The post where I act very sappy and sentimental…. So why am I still here? What is it about Yamagata, Gifu and Japan that keeps me putting off the inevitable return to ‘normal’ life? Let’s try and list some of the reasons why, because dammit, lists are fun. Temporary haunted house in the Yanagase area of Gifu. After a day of hiking, leeches and injuries, this is a nice way to relax. In Miyama, Yamagata-shi. You’re putting work on your list? Notif...

Sometimes I write things. | Jenn in Japan
https://jenninjapan.wordpress.com/2011/11/10/sometimes-i-write-things
If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean-buyer. If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire, for we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Sometimes I write things. November 10, 2011. This little experiment in sound appeared this morning. Rhyme. Rhythm. Syllables. Consonance. Assonance. Alliteration. Brevity. It’s probably best if you read this aloud…just a suggestion. I miss so many moments. And my meager mind is. I lose my equilibrium.

My adventures preparing for, and living in, Japan. Saturday, February 6, 2010. I took the photo in the top banner there. It's some random town along the Tokaido-sen that I took a picture of as I was travelling from Tokyo to Nagoya over Winter Break in 2008. Please allow myself to introduce.myself. However, I was able to pass all my courses and secure my M.A. in Japanese. I had only applied to one PhD program (at the University of Toronto) though, and unfortunately I was not accepted. Look...So now, my go...

Japan Japan Japan . com. Everyday's an adventure – 毎日が冒険です – Andy's Japanese photo blog. Starbucks Vanilla Creamy lemon latte. It’s a bit of a mouth full to order at the counter but I really like it. Since coming to japan I frequently visit Starbucks to get some work done. Definitely not medicine-y like my mates say! Think I’ll stick to my regular Cafe Latte in the future. Can’t mess with perfection (perfection as far as Starbucks goes anyway). By Andy on March 20, 2014. Posted in Food and Drink.
Melon Pan: Epic Festival Trip: Part One
http://laurennomelonpan.blogspot.com/2010/08/epic-festival-trip-part-one.html
A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. Epic Festival Trip: Part One. Because there is so much to report, I'm splitting this into two posts. Here's the first 3 days of my trip. Ok, so I got back from my trip on Sunday, but I'm still recovering. I'm exhausted . But I need to recap before I forget everything, so here we go! I watched for a couple of hours, actually, until it ended around 10:30. Then I remember how I was hungry and grabbed some food at a conbini and went to bed. Day Two didn't have near as...
Melon Pan: November 2010

A sweet bread that tastes like honeydew. Getting Sick in Japan. I know it's been three months since I posted. I'm sorry. I didn't really know how to follow up climbing Mt. Fuji, so I just kept putting it off. This post still won't really measure up to the last, but at least it's something, right? I'll try to keep a more regular schedule, too, from here on. Sunday night, my throat started hurting. I figured it would go away, and tried to ignore it as best I could, but didn't get much sleep. I'm feeling mo...
