Random Thoughts: August 2010

http://benjamincox.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Just trying to get through life without lookin stupid. Sunday, August 29, 2010. I concur with Coach Scott and the cranky old guy. Joe Tait recently had a long meeting with Scott. The broadcaster said: "I really liked him. The minute he referred to the stuff at the arena away from the game as 'all that crap,' I yelled, 'You are my man! He has a sense of humor, but you can see that he's all business. He's what the team needs at this point.". On an unrelated note, apparently Browns' rookie Joe Haden was at ...

Random Thoughts: December 2010

http://benjamincox.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Just trying to get through life without lookin stupid. Monday, December 27, 2010. You can have him, LeBron. The Cavs waived Jawad Williams. In a surprise move, the Cleveland Cavaliers today released forward Jawad Williams, who had nine points in 23 minutes in Sunday night's 98-97 loss to the Timberwolves at The Q. I find it a bit interesting that the Cavs really didn't give a reason for Williams's release:. Maybe they have other moves in the works, like a trade where they take back multiple players or si...

Random Thoughts: Frustrating

http://benjamincox.blogspot.com/2010/12/frustrating.html

Just trying to get through life without lookin stupid. Thursday, December 16, 2010. On one hand, I give the Cavs a lot of credit for hanging with the Heat for four quarters. The Cavs, most notably Boobie Gibson (26 points) and Anderson Varejao (18 points, 15 boards), really made Miami work for their 101-95 victory. On the other hand, they still lost. I hate these moral victories (whoo! We lost by less than normal! Terrible, remember that that's including Gibson's sizzling 10-16 performance. Non-Boobi...

Random Thoughts: October 2010

http://benjamincox.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Just trying to get through life without lookin stupid. Friday, October 29, 2010. Toronto 101, Cleveland 81. Little bit of a different feel to this one. First post-LeBron game, home opener against Boston? Cavs had a lot of effort and energy. A simple late-October game in Toronto? Not JJ. Hickson's finest hour. The defense was not good. The starters were, well, awful. The game didn't get out of hand until the third quarter. On the plus side, a whole quarter of garbage time. First back-to-back of the year.

Random Thoughts: September 2010

http://benjamincox.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Just trying to get through life without lookin stupid. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Coach Scott has the Cavs running. Scott does heavy running at the start and finish of each practice in camp and then runs a crisp schedule so players are doing drills while fatigued to help build up stamina. Then they run three more. I saw a couple guys throw up, I'm not going to point them out, but it is good for us," Jawad Williams said. "It wasn't nothing fun, my feet are on fire.". I hope they stick with it. Too...

Cry Me A Cuyahoga River: Keep Cliff Lee!

http://crymeacuyahogariverblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/keep-cliff-lee-he-is-one-of-only.html

Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Poll voters overwhelmingly voted that they couldn't bear to lose Cliff Lee because he is one of the only Indians worth watching. I am stunned. Do any of you actually think to yourself, "Indians game. Is Cliff Lee pitching? If so, I'll actually make a point to watch this one tonight.". He may be one of the only Indians worth watching, but that doesn't mean he actually gets people to watch the games. If he doesn't do that, we need to trade him while his value is so high. Trade them...

Cry Me A Cuyahoga River: February 2010

http://crymeacuyahogariverblog.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 25, 2010. Where is the supposed loyalty due? On one hand, you have one of the longest single team tenured player in the league in Z. He's been through the rough times, he stuck around, he has reaped the benefits of the Cavs resurgence. On the other, you have the chosen one. He made Cleveland relevant (again? Cleveland State Vikings Basketball | The Cleveland Fan

http://tcf.danwismar.com/misc/cleveland-state-vikings.1.html

Cleveland State's Rally Comes Up Short Against Wright State. The Cleveland State men's basketball team fought back from a 13-point deficit with eight minutes remaining, but couldn't get the final shot to fall, as Wright State held on to a 49-46 victory Sunday afternoon at the Wolstein Center. Trey Lewis had a chance to tie the game and send it into overtime, but his desperation three-pointer from 30-feet bounced off the rim as the buzzer sounded. Posted by Tom Mieskoski. Cry Me A Cuyahoga River: Cavs Re-Sign Varejao, Sign Parker

http://crymeacuyahogariverblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/varejao-parker-instant-analysis.html

Thursday, July 9, 2009. Cavs Re-Sign Varejao, Sign Parker. We'll have more coverage of this over the weekend but I wanted to post some immediate thoughts on these signings:. When I first heard that the deal was 6 years, $50 million, I almost started crying. We are just now crawling out of the deep dark Larry Hughes/Ben Wallace hole that Ferry dug for us 5 years ago. Why on earth would we jump right back into it? With a bunch of frontcourt players that need oxygen tanks to move around, that's where. A...

A valve that opens one way but allows a wheel to keep turning, then closes when reversed. Needs some tweaks, but generally good!

Why I love Brandeis. January 8, 2015. Every time Brandeis gets bad press it hurts, and it hurts because it’s a great school. The school, however, has no clue how to do crisis management. I only get to read about Brandeis in the WSJ when something is handled badly. Credit: https:/ www.flickr.com/photos/11998354@N07/. For me, I love the school, I have raised money for the school, and I will continue to love the school. I love it for simple reasons:. Brandeis takes risks on students in whom it sees potentia...
