Gradient Stormchasers: January 2015
http://gradientstormchasers.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
A Whitewater kayaking blog. Friday, January 30, 2015. This winter, after my return from a course with work in Ontario which unfortunately caused me to miss the autumn season in Quebec/The Northeast besides Moosefest I headed for a long drive down to Mexico solo to see what I could find. First off, if you ever plan to drive to Mexico here are some quick pointers that will make things better:. I recommend not having a flashy/new car, or at least dumb it down a bit. I found the ugliest set of rims I cou...

Gradient Stormchasers: October 2013
http://gradientstormchasers.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
A Whitewater kayaking blog. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. I'd never done Tumwater and only ever seen it between 9000 and 16000 cfs, where it looks every bit the big water class V maelstrom that it is at those levels, so I really didn't know what to expect. Saturday night we spent some time sampling the Leavenworth nightlife and enjoying some local Bavarian dishes (the whole town is like a Bavarian themed Whistler), it was a great time with some heavy alcohol consumption and designated drivers of course!

T h e R a n g e L i f e: Kamchatka Project :: Field Report
http://therangelife.blogspot.com/2010/07/kamchatka-project-field-report.html
Thursday, July 15, 2010. Kamchatka Project : Field Report. In the weeks preceding departure to the Kamchatka Peninsula. For a project Bryan and I had been working on for almost two years, many of my close paddling friends kept asking about what kind of whitewater we expected to find. And the truth was, with so much of our planning and prep time focused on the salmon, the conservation aspects of our trip, and the general logistics, that we had no idea what to expect in terms of whitewater. But we decided ...

Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Ucona River, Vancouver Island. Jakub at the put in for the Ucona. Off to the first drop. The morning of Sunday, was an even later start. All good however as the river was only 15mins away. Had a great sleep under a picnic table testing out my bivy. In the west coast rain. It worked well both nights keeping me totally dry and warm. Run we where off. The last comment I remember was it should just take us an hour! Looking at my altimeter. At the end of the trip it was cool to see h...

Gradient Stormchasers: April 2015
http://gradientstormchasers.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A Whitewater kayaking blog. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. The last couple weeks I've spent exploring and kayaking West Virginia, Delaware Water Gap and Vermont/New Hampshire goodness, all new places to me with different kayaking from what I'm used to out west or even in Québec really. Beauty places that seem to cascade into runnable timeframes one after the other as you head north. It finally warmed up enough for me to want to get the camera out and I got some shots from the Northeast last weekend anyway.
