Friday, July 25, 2008. Basmati or plain rice - 4 cups. Masoor dal/red split lentils-1/2 cup. Salt-1tbspn or as per taste. Cilantro and Mint leaves chopped-1/2cup. Wash rice and masoor dal together. Keep it soaked in water for about half an hr. Take a heavy bottomed deep sauce pan.Add oil and heat it on medium high flame. Add the sliced onions and fry them till golden brown.Now reduce the flame and drop in the adrak-laisan paste and fry till it turns golden brown. Serve hot with imli ka khatta and kheema.

In a pressure cooker put the washed Paya,enough water so that the Paya are immersed completely and the ingredients from 2 to 10.Close the lid and keep on high flame for about 30-45mins or till the Paye are tender. Friday, July 25, 2008. Hyderabadi Imli ka khatta. Tamarind pulp-2 teaspoon full. Red chilli powder-1/2 teaspoon full. Turmeric/haldi powder-1/4 teaspoon full. Adrak-Laisan/Ginger-Garlic paste-1/2 teaspoon full. Salt-1/2 teaspoon full or as per your taste. Cilantro and Mint leaves finely chopped-1/4cup. Cumin seeds-1/4 teaspoon full. Curry leaves-5 to 6. Til/Sesame seeds-1 teaspoon full. Take a big bowl,add in tamarind paste and water.Mix them and keep aside. Dry roast groundnut and Sesame seeds.
