Thanks for the Memories. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. While Terrie was here, she spent time with the kids making noodle angel ornaments. She does such a great job with these and they turn out so cute. She uses all different kinds of noodles.penne for the body, bow ties for the wings, macaroni for the halos and tiny noodles for the hair. She even made a salt dough that she rolled into little balls for the heads. It is fun to decorate the tree in your pajamas the day after Thanksgiving. Evan and Grandma w...

Stop taking pictures of me when I am getting ready! The boys stayed home with Dad. They had fun opening a new bag every hour with a different treat or game. Links to this post. Thanks for the Memories. Saturday, March 23, 2013. Easter sugar cookies. Evan was bored on Saturday and asked if we could make sugar cookies. When they were all baked, he invited everyone in to decorate the cookies. Everyone was able to make their own colored frosting. Later we found the Easter Bunny at our house. The Easter Bunny always leaves a trail of jelly beans to lead the kids out to the big candy and egg hunt. Links to this post. Friday, March 15, 2013. Getty Center and BYU Volleyball. We did a l...

http://jillhaviland.blogspot.com/2013/05/mothers-day-2013.html
Thanks for the Memories. Sunday, May 12, 2013. Every Mother's Day my sweet husband makes a corsage for me from flowers he has grown in our yard. I am so grateful to be the mother of these four wonderful kids, some of whom are rapidly passing me up in height. They are all so unique and it has been so fun to watch them grow and learn new things. Here is a fun look at a couple of mother's days from the past. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thanks for the Memories. Thursday, May 31, 2012. School is out for the summer here is Bakersfield. Emily graduated from Junior High on Thursday. We were able to get the kids back into the last month of school after coming home from Chile so that they could see their friends before summer break and join in with all the end of the year festivities. We are so proud of Emily and all of the hard work that she did this year. Emily, Christina, and Melissa. Links to this post. Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

Thanks for the Memories. Saturday, December 31, 2011. New Year's Eve 2011. New Year's Eve on the beach. We heard that the fireworks were going to be launched at the beach, so we headed down a couple of hours before sunset to get a good spot for the festivities. Earlier that day some talented beach goers made this crocodile in the sand. Evan wanted to dig a big hole in the sand. Dad helped him make the hole big enough to jump in. They even dug down far enough to find water. Finally the time had arrived.

Thanks for the Memories. Monday, August 27, 2012. For our final day in Korea, we were back in Seoul. We went to Gyeongbokgung Palace. First constructed in 1394 and reconstructed in 1867 is largest of five palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. We made it just in time to see the changing of the guards. They didn't seem to mind that tourists wanted to have their pictures taken next to a guard. Their costumes were great. I especially liked the feathers in their hat the their weapons. A census record in Korean...

Thanks for the Memories. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Hike to the Volcano. We came back for the big hike to the volcano all prepared with food and water. Dave estimated that the hike would be about 10 miles long. As soon as we took this turn toward the city of Challupen we were on our way. We found these seeds dropping from the trees. We also found a bunch of the seeds opened up like this. I'd like to think that these were enjoyed by those little marsupials that live here called Monito del Monte. But, we go...

Thanks for the Memories: My 40th Birthday
http://jillhaviland.blogspot.com/2013/05/my-40th-birthday.html
Thanks for the Memories. Thursday, May 23, 2013. Thanks to a business conference in Europe, Dave's parents who took care of the house and the kids, and the fact that France and Spain are so close together, I was able to climb the Eiffel Tower on my 40th birthday. It was really incredible. We decided to skip the long lines for the elevator and climb the 669 steps to the second floor of the tower. The views of Paris from the Eiffel Tower are pretty incredible. The underbelly and more elevator cables. We fi...
