An unschooling journey as we explore the world and all it has to offer. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Where does the time go? This 'school year' finds us with our youngest still at home of an age to be considered ninth grade should he decide to go to high school. Every year I toss him that option as one of his choices and just like all the years before, he turns me down. He is quite content to continue on as an unschooler. He has grown so much! Cumberland Caverns in Tennessee,. So many fun adventures!

An unschooling journey as we explore the world and all it has to offer. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This is the Song that Never Ends: Homeschooling Year Round. There is one chipmunk who is always first to our feeders. I often find him sitting on the side stoop as I come around the house to put out seed. He's becom. I'm Unschooled. Yes, I Can Write.

An unschooling journey as we explore the world and all it has to offer. Thursday, December 29, 2011. Eight Year Olds and Unschooling. This is a response to a worried mom of an eight year old. I'm coming into the discussion a wee bit late and have skimmed the majority of responses and have just a few points to add:. Jane McGonical was on TED Talks. You can view here. The original poster states a few concerns I'd like to address:. If we do go out, a hour or 2 later he's ready to go home.". Which lead to us...

http://appleleafblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/some-australian-book-reviews.html
Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Some Australian book reviews. I am going to include a review or two on my blog on a regular basis. As material by Australian Christians often remains under-highlighted by shops, this will be my main focus. I've always referred to reviews to help me decide whether or not to buy a particular book and I'm really looking forward to getting started. Today I'll begin with a novel and a book of devotions. STREETS ON A MAP by Dale Harcombe.

Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Ashes under the soles of our feet (Part 1). The Sun of Righteousness will dawn on those who honor my name, healing radiating from its wings. You will be bursting with energy like colts, frisky and frolicking. And you'll tromp on the wicked. They'll be nothing but ashes under your feet on that day." Malachi 4: 2-3, The Message. Hopes and dreams will gurgle down the plughole! What an incredible feeling of release we should feel if this is...

Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Many bloggers have written posts about prayer and I'm about to have my say too. It seems no wonder that in busy schedules, prayer is often the first thing to be sacrificed in a daily planner. We cannot detect ultrasound waves with our natural senses either. I can remember lying there watching my babies wriggle around in my pregnant belly but I certainly couldn't feel the waves that were pouring through my flesh, allowing the ima...

Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction: January 2011
http://appleleafblog.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Thursday, January 27, 2011. Is this the stage we've come to? Recently we heard through the media that the current younger generation (and I guess they're talking about Y and Z) is the first generation since Australian settlement that is more illiterate than their parents! That's a concern but when I thought about it, I had to admit that I was not all that surprised for several reasons. Who even needs to be literate in the 21st century? In that case, we may be up...
Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction: August 2010

Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Stories to combat writer's discouragement. I was having some gloomy moments last week and couldn't figure out why, until I put two and two together. I've recently had two great things happen. 1) "Picking up the Pieces", the first novel I ever had published back in 2000, has been re-published! But when good things happen and I have time to stand back and take a deep breath, I find myself getting anxious and flat. All the "what ifs?

Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Or "Ashes under the soles of our feet" Part 2. But aren't we supposed to be hard at work, looking after our own interests? You may well ask. The alternative that springs to mind is that we sit around doing nothing but waiting for God to act on our behalf. I've tried this approach too and it works no better. April 6, 2011 at 11:16 AM. Have you ever read or saw Randy Pauschs The Last Lecture? Peace and Laughter,. April 8, 2011 at 4:23 PM.

Apple Leaf Blog Faith, Family and Fiction. Monday, January 4, 2010. My newsletter for December 2009. New Year, New Decade. And this year, I took the time to reflect because I don't want to go into my forties without some nostalgia. I said, "Wow God, thank you for your magnificent variety." And at home, I wrote it into my journal and I felt good too. I think noticing the beauty is a habit I'll definitely keep up. What I've been reading. I'll write it down, to show the impact a great blurb makes. All three...

My Humble Musings
View my complete profile. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. When one wakes up in the morning and is in the driveway at 6:30 AM, what do you expect to find? Drawing closer and closer to the answer as to what this was, I had two thoughts in my head. One was that it was play money. The second was to half expect someone down the block to have a string attached to the paper, pulling it farther and farther away from me with each attempted nab. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. This is not rhetorical) It's ridiculous! White on...

An unschooling journey as we explore the world and all it has to offer. Sunday, April 27, 2014. Crossfit, BJJ, Crohn's and a Resection. It's been awhile seen I wrote. Much has happened. First, my leg is still healing. I'm back to walking but dancing and running still cause large amounts of pain and stress on the leg. I now do Crossfit at 6:30am and Brazilian Jui Jitsu at 6:30pm. I'm getting stronger, but not yet smaller. . George almost died over the 2013 Thanksgiving/Christmas season. Peace and laughter,.
