Lao is the most heavily bombed country in the world per capita in history. More than 580,000 bombing missions were conducted over Laoduring the Vietnam war between 1964 and 1973. More than 270 million bombies were dropped onto Lao. All 17 provinces in Lao suffer from UXO contamination.

The Kingdom of Baikal. Thursday, 22 December 2011. Well Singapore was a great place for taking in all the things we had been deprived of for sooo long! Skyscrapers.fancy buildings.shopping.people watching.to name a few. Umbrella is great for stopping us overheating as well as for the afternoon downpours! We also got a few things for the boat as this part of Malaysia is not so good for getting boat stuff. All very la de da. Replica of Bakau Wreck Found 1998 in the Karimata Strait between Sumatra and Borneo.

The Kingdom of Baikal. Thursday, 23 August 2012. We walked all day and stumbled across temples and catering companies and dogs on bikes. Pollution is a problem, we left Penang 11 days later with sore throats and were pleased to get back into some fresh air! Constantly watching where you walk, holes in the ground. Making up a whole lot of Indian food in big aluminium pots nice. We arrived in Penang do get our Thai visas and organise our Cruising permit for Indonesia. Many people stop to take photos of this.

Dudley was at the helm, the depth sounder read 60m, and it slowly decreased to 3.5m down down down to 0.0m. What a beaut spot that was, we went exploring up to the light house and and had a great sail through the wide bay bar and now we are at Garry’s anchorage. The wind direction girl. We had a few leads to line up and so we putted in, the lowest we got down to on the depth sounder was 0.4m under the keel, whew, we made it.
