Nurse's Notes: July 2010
http://juliesnursenotes.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 31, 2010. Although darkness has fallen, the city outside is far from sleep. Even as I write this, campaign trucks wind through the streets; loudspeakers pronounce views on the upcoming Referendum here in Kenya. I am in Nairobi for my mid-term rest/resupply period before returning to Sudan. I’ve enjoyed having time to reflect on God’s goodness through the past weeks at Doro, as well as prepare for the next four months. I won’t always get the privilege of seeing how He is weaving somet...

Nurse's Notes: July 2011
http://juliesnursenotes.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 8, 2011. I slept for a few hours in the tent, then woke with Bethany and Katie in time to enjoy the last of the sun's warm golden light as it sunk into a frosty horizon. We periodically stopped for breaks, but inside I just wanted to press on, to get to the top. "This is do-able. The summit is so close," I thought. At about this point in my reflections we crested the summit. After chugging down all the water that I could get, it felt great just to soak in the spectacular panorama that su...

Nurse's Notes: May 2010
http://juliesnursenotes.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Last Night in Nairobi. Since returning to Nairobi, I've finished preparing for Doro. Joanna, another member of the Sudan team arrived on Monday, and its been fun rooming with her. We had dinner with Dr Rob tonight and enjoyed our last bowls of ice cream for a few months (as there is no freezer in Doro). Dr Rob will be with us for about a week, so it will be helpful to learn as much as possible from him. 1 That I will continually surrender to Jesus so His love can work through me.

Nurse's Notes: November 2010
http://juliesnursenotes.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Thanksgiving is a time to worship Jesus and reflect on His provision. And on this American holiday week, and consequently my last full day in Doro, I can think of no better time to thank God for the joy of life in Him. I have never experienced His love and provision like I have today! How exciting to witness new life because of God's provision! If the plane had not been available, the mother would have had to travel to the closest surgical hospital: 6 hours by car! Each mome...
