Flat-12: Top Ten c2013
http://flat-12blog.blogspot.com/2014/01/with-start-of-2014-pre-season-testing.html
Tuesday, January 28, 2014. With the start of 2014 pre-season testing, here's the Flat-12 Top Ten for the 2013 F1 World Championship and some thoughts on the year ahead. Better late than never? 2013 was a difficult year for F1. Pirelli, acting on direction from the sport, delivered compounds so delicate that drivers were left skittering for grip and engineers scratching their heads. Purists cried that F1 had become artificial and drivers lamented that their focus was no longer strictly on racing. Politics...

Flat-12: May 2012
http://flat-12blog.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 22, 2012. A Proper World Championship. Five races. Three continents. Five winners, four nationalities. Five constructors . . . three engine manufacturers of three separate countries . . . a virtually elusive grid featuring drivers of three other nationalities and teams from another two who almost certain will also taste victory . . . and we are only one quarter of the way into the season. Although evident from the outset in Melbourne, Spain clearly reinforced Pirelli's ante in determining wh...

Flat-12: November 2012
http://flat-12blog.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 23, 2012. I'm going to miss Michael Schumacher. His decision to retire for good is not all together a surprise . . . but I'd hoped he was to find a seat at Sauber and give it one more go. It would prove, however, a few years later before I attended my very first Grand Prix: Imola 2004. Schumi on his way to another uncontested victory at Imola in the V-10 F2004. 2004 was indeed a banner year for Michael and Ferrari. Together they absolutely demolished the field, and I remember like ye...

Flat-12: August 2012
http://flat-12blog.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 29, 2012. The long, hot silence. I find little use for summer's miserable discomfort unless seated poolside, and I can't remember the last time I could enjoy such hedonistic pleasure on anything remotely resembling frequent basis. However, with the Rolex Historics, Concorso Italiano, and the relief of 68 degrees Fahrenheit on the Monterey Peninsula, I came a step closer to kissing these dreadful days goodbye. Cheers. Go Kimi. Laguna Seca's corkscrew: renown for it's ten story drop. Laguna Seca is one of only a handful of circuits to have hosted the ALMS each year of th...
