Autistic in Ontario? Better be rich! Government is spending big money helping too little too late.: Sebastian and Inka's first, tentative contacts
http://www.tooautistic.com/2011/06/sebastian-and-inka-first-third-degree.html
Saturday, June 18, 2011. Sebastian and Inka's first, tentative contacts. That was Sebastian and Inka's first eye contact when we came home on Thursday. Sebastian likes touching Inka's fur. The marks on his hands are calluses from him biting his own hands, which he does when he is frustrated, or when he is overwhelmed by sensations that he can't deal with. The calluses are softening and getting smaller since he is not biting himself so much anymore. Inka has soft ears. Saturday, June 18, 2011. Systemic ne...

Monday, August 29, 2011. Ontario Autism Coalition protest. I have been living under the rock recently, and partly it was my clear intention do not know what is going on in the big world around me. Here is Ontario Autism Coalition. Join the Ontario Autism Coalition. Wednesday, August 31 · 4:30pm - 6:30pm. System...

Autistic in Ontario? Better be rich! Government is spending big money helping too little too late.: Inka is Now Part of the Bunda Family
http://www.tooautistic.com/2011/09/inka-is-now-one-of-bunda-family.html
Saturday, September 3, 2011. Inka is Now Part of the Bunda Family. Our family expanded. It is official, and we have papers to prove it. Inka stands now for a hefty 30% of our family members. She is also the best behaved. I will never be able to describe or even fully understand what happens at the Lion's Foundation. My gratitude extends to all people involved in breeding, raising and training the dogs. They selflessly contribute countless hours to welfare of dog recipients. Foster families. I do not marc...
Autistic in Ontario? Better be rich! Government is spending big money helping too little too late.: At Queen's Park - day 86
http://www.tooautistic.com/2011/09/at-queens-park-day-86.html
Thursday, September 1, 2011. At Queen's Park - day 86. When I was driving on the familiar, stressful route to Queen's Park I felt the same way I did two years ago, and a year ago, and whenever I was going there. It was like moving back in time. Amazingly, not a lot had changed there. Buses spilling pictures snapping tourists, familiar guards who still remembered us, manicured lawns and indifferent statues. We cheerfully joined Ontario Autism Coalition. On our drive home I was thinking my old familiar fru...

Autistic in Ontario? Better be rich! Government is spending big money helping too little too late.: May 2011
http://www.tooautistic.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Sebastian is eight now, and it was quite a shock to me when I was told in the beginning of this school year that he will attend his first communion in May. I remember my first communion:the dress, the hairdo, the artificial white lily all girls were holding as a symbol of innocence, the priest's ornate robe, the smells and sounds of the church. Getting ready. It is Sebastian's first suit. Little bit of encouragement goes a long way. Group photo opportunity that was almost missed.
Autistic in Ontario? Better be rich! Government is spending big money helping too little too late.: April 2011
http://www.tooautistic.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Yesterday I had a phone call from the Lions Foundation - Dog Guides Canada, informing me that we were matched with a service dog. When it happened my heart skipped: our family is about to expand by 50% percent. How exiting! It will happen in June. I will have to go for a week of training and bonding with the dog. And now the good dog good news. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I do not march through this trying experience. I stagger under. IBI 3 piece puzzle.

Autism - AutismResearchNetwork.org
Generally, autism is diagnosed in children right at infancy and early childhood. The disability in the majority of cases develops gradually without any remissions. However there are rare cases when it is discovered later. In the modern medical practice there distinguished three main types of autism. Atypical autism is the third type of the ASDs and in medical terms is known as Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS). Such a diagnosis is set to people with milder symptoms th...

Autism Resource | A Source For Autism In The Media
A Source For Autism In The Media. Films, Documentaries, Books. Touch – New FOX TV series. January 27, 2012. On 1/25/12, FOX premiered their new drama series Touch. A show about a single father trying to raise his 10-year-old autistic, non-verbal son. I have been excited for this show as it revolves around an autistic child and has Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) himself starring in it! All in all, I find this show to be very promising and I enjoy some of the realistic elements it portrays! October 5, 2011.
