I'm nannying again, so there are inevitable stories that come up. I think the good ones still need to be shared (Comment if you agee, really, go, do it). Like what happened today. So today, Jim hired a guy to pressure wash our pool deck and the pavers on our patio…I was admiring the patio and planning to head to the Summit to shop for the wedding next week in Charelston and then, it hit me…the sun is shining so bright, the shop is closed thanks to Spring Break and you, my friend have a date with the pool guy! That would be my sweet husband! So much to do, though. 1 T more olive oil.

Every time we go to the beach we make several trips to Bud and Alley's to watch the sunset and eat their smoked tuna dip! It is a favorite of ours as well as our kids. So, this time after being there I googled the recipe all the way home and finally came across what I think is the EXACT recipe! Of course I came home with tuna as well as ribs, filets, salmon and several other things!

Soul Food Squash and Tomato Casserole. 2 lbs yellow squash, sliced. 3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped with juice retained. 1 T all-purpose flour. 1 t kosher salt. 1/2 t garlic powder. 1/4 t black pepper. 2 C shredded mozzarella cheese, divided. 1/2-1 C parmesan cheese. Combine the squash and water in a large saucepan over medium high heat and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer on low until tender. Drain and set aside. I hope you love it! Saturday, May 12, 2012. Curt's request this week: Can you make a strawberry pie? Why, SURE, man o' my dreams. For the record, making pie crust from scratch is downright easy. One of the four (4! Ingredients is ice water, for crying out loud. Rolling out the dough can make a bit of a countertop mess - but who doesn't have paper towels and the ability to wipe up something? Heck, get the husbandator to clean up. You made the pie, after all. Do exactly as Obi - I mean, Ina says. That we all have on hand.

Tuesday, August 7, 2012. This dessert involves nutella (it had me there, frankly) and cheesecake and you don't have to turn on your oven. You can make it "in a jiff." That's southern for it's easy. One spoonful and you will re-evaluate your position in the universe. My family inhaled these. The two older children were buzzing around me like vultures when I was making it, hoping to lick the spatula or bowl or anything that had come into contact with this luscious, divine, heavenly stuff.
