The Adventures of Storygirl. LIS 561-University of Washington Storytelling. OLA-Storytime for One-Year Olds. May 11, 2009. 8212; jck8 @ 4:01 pm. At OLA, I had the good fortune to hear Steve Englefried, a Multnomah County Librarian. Englefried focused on how to incorporate puppets and storytelling elements into storytime. He talked a lot about story extensions-and how great they are for helping to build narrative skill and imagination, even for one -year olds. For instance, using. Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

The Adventures of Storygirl. LIS 561-University of Washington Storytelling. Me and the Three Billy Goats Gruff May 16, 2009. 8212; jck8 @ 6:56 pm. I knew the kids knew the three billy goats gruff, but I’m a huge believer in repetition. I think you’ll hear that the kids really liked it in the video–they got pretty excited a few times telling me how the story goes. I based the telling of this story on Paul Galdone’s version of the book, as well as the annotated tale on SurLaLune. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A record of my journey through Storytelling: Art and Techniques LIS 561 from the ischool at the University of Washington. Saturday, May 16, 2009. Last night 2 classmates and I got together to perform stories for our friends and families. It was lots of fun, and I think it went really well. Here also are Rabbit's Snow Dance and Popcorn, which are neat to hear again because the audience is different, and it's in a different location (and I've practiced a lot more). A record of my journey through Storytelling: Art and Techniques LIS 561 from the ischool at the University of Washington. Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Assignment 4: Story Set. I also chose these stories because of their repetitive bits in threes “What big… you have” and “Little Pig, Little Pig…” are wonderful repetitions and stick in your head. Benjamin Pig echoes this with “I don’t like…” which fits him in this triad of stories. It runs a little over 15 minutes (15 minutes and 11 seconds).

Amazing Stranger
The Amazing Stranger billboard project is an attempt to insert an off-key element into the traffic of consumerism. Advertising typically tells an individual what they are missing, and how a product or service can fill that void. These images want to affirm the viewer's value through the basic human interaction of polite conversation. There is no second step to these messages, nothing to buy, nowhere to go, no number to call. The Amazing Stranger is a project of Jason Parker. In Atlanta, August 12-28, 2011.
