Sara's Little Dabblings: All work and no play...
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015/07/all-work-and-no-play.html
Monday, 27 July 2015. All work and no play. Means another week without much sewing! It's been such a long time since I've done any knitting, Chrome has completely forgotten that if I type R I mean for it to go straight to Ravelry! I dug out a ball of now discontinued Regia World Circus Colour in 3752. It's quite pretty, and a mindless knit. Think this is the 8th pair of socks I've made now, and the 6th one using Silver's Sock Class. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Tilly and ...

Sara's Little Dabblings: Not the most exciting week
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-havent-been-doing-that-much.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. Not the most exciting week. I haven't been doing that much creatively since returning from Edinburgh, I've been working lots instead. I also picked up some quilting rulers, a 4.5 inch triangle and a 6 inch square. I spent a few hours cutting out squares ready to be sewn and cut into 8 half square triangles but otherwise haven't touched my sewing stash all week! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sara's Little Dabblings: July 2013
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 4 July 2013. I properly love The Knitting Goddess. The colours are just fantastic, I can always pick out skeins of hers. I treated myself to two mini skein packs on Tuesday as a birthday present to myself. This is the May mini skein club pack, which has 7 skeins in lovely soft, light and summery colours. My blanket has a tendency to get darker in some areas, so I'm hoping these will help balance it out. Links to this post. Labels: sock yarn blanket. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Welsh girl with...

Sara's Little Dabblings: August 2013
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 25 August 2013. Decided to dig out my fabric collection this afternoon. I'm going to sew some giant letters and numbers, then stuff them for two little ones I have the pleasure of knowing. I found the idea here. Which also has a downloadable file for the letters and numbers. One will be for a girl and the other for a boy. So I'll make Olivia a set for Christmas first, while I shop for 'manly' fabrics! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Some of my Photos.

Sara's Little Dabblings: September 2013
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 16 September 2013. Made this tonight for a friends recent new arrival. The blue card is from a craft magazine gift and the sentiment, green paper and the grey backing card are from random eBay sellers. The stamped image is a Bumble Bear stamp, also from a magazine issue - I forget which. I used to buy loads 4-5 years ago when I first moved to Reading. This makes it look slightly more intentional where it wobbles a little! I think it also makes it stand out and gives a slight 3D effect.

Sara's Little Dabblings: March 2015
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Fitting and tension issues. Well, I hate zips! I've had no end of trouble inserting an invisible zip, I finally got it on the third attempt. I managed to do it fine the first time except that it wasn't lying flush with the bodice and it was altering the fit, so I redid it. I also added the facings as I hadn't bothered initially. On the second attempt I managed to sew one side of the zip the wrong way round! Top tension set to 8. Top tension set to 2. Links to this post. I've been ...

Sara's Little Dabblings: Quilt HSTs
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015/07/quilt-hsts.html
Tuesday, 21 July 2015. According to http:/ www.generations-quilt-patterns.com/triangle-square.html. HST's are 2 6/8 finished size. (2 and 3/4 inches). Add 6/8 7/8 = 13/8 = 1 5/8. Plus 2 inches so 3 5/8. Times 2: 6 10/8 = 7 2/8 inch large squares to make 8 HSTs at a time. Posting this here to help me remember! So used to metric, I keep messing up inches. Sara's Little Dabblings: April 2015
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 1 April 2015. Progress on the skater dress. Progress update on my skater dress. I decided to be brave, or foolish(! Last night and cut out the pieces for the dress in the blue fabric I wanted to use. It took far longer than I wanted it to, but I didn't want to screw it up. The fabric is more brighter blue but my camera doesn't pick it up very well! I'm on nights this week so won't be able to do quite as much as I'll have less time and focus/concentration during the day after sleeping.

Sara's Little Dabblings: February 2015
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 14 February 2015. Getting back into sewing. I graduated and started a full time job in July, yay! However it definitely keeps me busy and I've started having the urge to make something again. I ended up signing up for a beginners sewing class as I'm self-taught and had been struggling with threads getting all knotted up, knowing how to adjust the tension etc. I went along to a brilliant 3 hour class in October at The Stitching Boutique. It feels beautifully soft and I keep hugging my cushion :D.

Sara's Little Dabblings: Tryfan
http://saraslittledabblings.blogspot.com/2015/08/tryfan.html
Thursday, 6 August 2015. I went on holiday with my family to North Wales last week. Dad decided we had to climb this mountain called Tryfan. View overlooking the valley, from very near the summit. The last bit up is a scramble over seemingly endless boulders. The two stones that mark the summit can be seen in the background. Me, sitting next to the stones. They're named Adam and Eve because they look like people from the bottom of the valley. Why was there a seagull on the top of the mountain?
