A little bit of quiet

Monday, May 4, 2015. We love playing with clay in our house. Our clay of choice is air-dried because it's easy to use and doesn't require any baking. The kids have made many a clay ornament in the past and I've made myself a few pretty little bowls. For rings, hair-ties etc. All you need is:. Air-dried Clay (or salt dough but I've never made it so stuck with clay). Cookie Cutter (or just free-style). Acrylic Paint and Brushes. Wait for the clay to dry - we left ours overnight - and then paint the next day.

A little bit of quiet: I like Goats, Green Tea Ice-cream and Sparkly Shoes. Who Am I?

http://www.alittlebitofquiet.blogspot.com/2014/12/i-like-goats-green-tea-ice-cream-and.html

Wednesday, December 10, 2014. I like Goats, Green Tea Ice-cream and Sparkly Shoes. Who Am I? I am Emma Watkins. The Yellow Wiggle! Did you know that about Emma? Neither did I but recently I was very lucky (and very excited) to have a little chat with her about her new life with The Wiggles. That, in itself, travelling in a bus with a bunch of "Wigglers", is no mean feat and would take a very special kind of person. Read on to find out more about Emma - a very special person and Wiggle indeed. It’s ...

A little bit of quiet: October 2014

http://www.alittlebitofquiet.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 26, 2014. Happy Halloween (a cute 'n quirky alternative). Anyway, I knew I would have to come to the party and get into the Halloween spirit (did I tell you I have illuminated pumpkins around my mantelpiece right now? I am rockin' this "getting into it" thing) so when I found a pumpkin idea that was neither orange nor spooky, and from one of my favourite magazines over here, Country Living. I did a happy-Halloween dance. This is what I found . Felt for ears and nose. Posted by A little bi...

A little bit of quiet: Crafting with CleverPatch

http://www.alittlebitofquiet.blogspot.com/2015/04/crafting-with-cleverpatch.html

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. When I was contacted recently by CleverPatch. My 4 year old chose to do the Sun Catcher CleverKit. She also made the Foam Flower Frame Magnet CleverKit. This one is super-quick and super-easy and comes together in a few minutes. All I needed to do was find a photo for her to use and it was done. A colourful, quirky little photo frame for your fridge. My son (7) was busting to use the Glass and Porcelain Markers. Personality shone through on this one! I asked him to read the instr...

A little bit of quiet: Christmas - and a little bit of handmade

http://www.alittlebitofquiet.blogspot.com/2014/12/christmas-and-little-bit-of-handmade.html

Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Christmas - and a little bit of handmade. My little family and I are hoping for a white Christmas this year, and with all the snow that has fallen recently, I'm sure we're going to get it! Our normal Christmas day is hot, dry and it always involves the beach and most often a barbecued breakfast. A cold, white, "traditional" Christmas - like we have seen for years in all the movies - will certainly be a big change for us as well as a fun novelty. We are very excited. I neatened ...

MyGirlSen: Bath Cookies

http://mygirlsen.blogspot.com/2012/11/bath-cookies.html

Sunday, 4 November 2012. This one is for all of you bakers out there! I'm always on the lookout for unique gift ideas, so when I came across this one I just had to try it out! Not only do I love baking cookies, but being able to put them in the bath is pretty damn cool too if you ask me! With Christmas coming up, this would be the perfect gift for a 'foodie' friend or family member. If you do give them a whirl, I would love to hear how they turned out! MyGirlSen: Sight Word Bingo

http://mygirlsen.blogspot.com/2013/03/sight-word-bingo.html

Thursday, 21 March 2013. So, who doesn't love a good game of bingo! And with school age children, if you can encourage some early-word recognition along the way, then thats a bonus I think! This was my inspiration for my post, something fun and educational that we could all enjoy and was super easy to prepare! Once I had the bingo cards individually mapped out, I found the brightest card we had (everything is SOOO much more fun when its bright! I looove using my laminator when possible (dont ask me why?

MyGirlSen: Teachers Gifts

http://mygirlsen.blogspot.com/2012/12/teachers-gifts.html

Tuesday, 4 December 2012. Wow, the school year is almost over! With time getting away from me quicker than I had possibly imagined, I decided it was time to start on the teacher and teachers assistants gifts for my daughters class. I came across this wonderful idea on an American website that I cannot for the life of me remember, however, if I do I will absolutely post the details! Anyway, this is my take on it. These cups myself as I think they. Would be great for milkshakes in. Sweet and simple. I ...

Friday, 12 October 2012. Sewing Tip - GATHERING. I cant believe how quickly these last two months have flown, and how 'not very often' Ive had the opportunity to blog! I promise though there will be a weekly addition now that I am a little more organised! I had to add this little sewing tip before I completely forgot as I think it is SO VERY CLEVER! I was a bit sceptical at first, but sure enough it worked perfectly! Maybe you should try it out too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Ive had this on my list of things to do for quite awhile and am glad I got it finished just in time for the beginning of the school term! A very simple idea that you can easily re-create yourself at home. So here it is, a coded calendar for kids!
