We kept going back and forth to the lactation clinic 2 or 3 times a week to get Baby Doc. Weighed and to do a before-and-after feeding weight. He was gaining great (once we got over that initial big loss). But I still had no more than 1/2 ounce of milk for him at any one time. While there is nothing magical about baking theses cookies in the fall, it has become a sort of tradition for us. I don’t use regular molasses in these cookies – I use sorghum syrup. And we just happen to know some people who make sorghum syrup. And that always happens in the fall. So, every time we get a fresh batch of sorghum syrup, you guessed it, I bake these cookies!
