今年も、７月19日 日 に 第43回あかびら火まつり のステージで 全道オヤジバンドグランプリin赤平 が開催されます。 同年7月14 15 16日に 第１回赤平市民祭り として実施された。 なんとかこの山の灯だけは消さないでほしい と市内の若者 青年会議所 たちが京都の 大文字焼き にヒントを得て始めたのが現在の 火文字焼き である。 赤平神社より赤平の発展の祈りをこめていただいた神火を平岸 茂尻 住友より、また、共和 幌岡 文京町、赤間より、また、住吉 豊里の３コースから若人たちの手から手へと赤平市内を一巡し一つ一つのタイマツが、赤平再開発の願いをこめて一つの大きな炎として集火した、それを旧赤間炭鉱ズリ山に描いた火文字に点火した。 火をテーマした祭りなので火の神輿を作ろう そんな発想から誕生した 火神輿 は昭和58年に完成する。 近隣からも人を呼べ、更に市民が情熱の 火 を燃やして総出で参加出来るようにしたいということから、名称を第15回より あかびら火まつり と改めた。 079-1192 北海道赤平市泉町4丁目1番地 TEL. 0125-32-1841.
